In the very late 90's, I had £10,000 in my hand, £10,000 that the then current girlfiend knew nothing about.
A Gordon Keeble appeared on one of the websites, priced at a little less then my handful, it went well, looked very good and here was a car I've loved (never out of the top 10!) since I was about 8 years old and first saw one in Cookham on Thames while on a family holiday.
But I didn't buy, it had a red velour interior, an interior so bad that only a retired 70's porn star who'd gone colour blind could stand to sit inside the car, I knew I didn't have enough money to buy and retrim, so I walked.
The one above sold for £73,500 4 years ago at Coys and apart from the interior, my one was just as nice......never be able to afford one now and just a year of saving while sitting on red velour, would've seen the money for a retrim in my hand.
