don’t need to see my mug again!! Ah yeah, that was a jagged edge of wing whilst trying to thread my head into the wheelarch with a welding mask on People with hair don’t have this problem... We do. Sometimes we even set it on fire, that's really fun.
Actually, if you are someone with a reasonable quantity of hair, invest in a few bandanas or hats - beanies are ideal - to keep your hair out of harm's way. Also keeps your hair much cleaner and you can chuck the hat or bandana in the washing machine when you're done with a day's work. There are few things more unpleasant than being on one of those wheeled trolleys under a car, trying to move, and finding your hair has got stuck in or under one of the castors on the thing.

Although if it's a beanie make sure it's not some horrible melty polyester thing.

old Baking trays and frying pans. old baking trays to chuck on the floor on your slammed vehicles to catch all the tranny and dif leaks 😉 chop up old frying pans to make dust pans *actually capable of handling hot stuff* off the floor Genius - I’ve been using a bit of old bent allioy and wondering if I should make something better - now I know a quick solution

Getting some Lin bins for nuts, bolts, and other small parts is a real help. Having various round Roses / Heroes tins full of random fasteners wastes time and space as they never store efficiently on the shelves. If you want to be super organised you can arrange small bins containing specific sized fasteners, but even a selection of large bins with mixed fasteners in still helps with keeping the place tidy and is easier to root around in for that elusive bolt.

^ I have some of those, but the problem I find is that anything open gets filled with dust after a while. So I'm going the other way, and trying to transfer things from open containers into closed ones. I have the old cupboards from a couple of Spammy spam spam spam, no thank you, man.*, and initially I left all the doors off because I only really wanted shelf space. I've been going around trying to find the old doors, and making new ones where I've scrapped them, again to keep dust down.

I'm with droopsnoot on keeping things in sealed boxes - I have a bunch of plastic jars with screw top lids for screws rawplugs etc - fills up one old kitchen cupboard - I keep toying with the idea of drilling holes in the lids and then screwing them to the underside of a narrow shelf so you can see the contents and just unscrew what you need when you need it!!!

Since I saw them being used at work, I bought some. Very handy, especially for clamping something lightly.

I have some long suture plier thingies I bought for a £1 a pop at a steam fair, I also have some long scissors and some long pliers with like a small flat ring on the end of each jaw. Not used very often, but invaluable when something like a small washer needs fitting in an awkward spot.

Did anyone say these yet? I dropped a nut and washer inside the herald's a-pillar this morning and spent an hour fishing it out. I've now decided I don't need that mounting location so dropping it was pointless...

And the ones with the magnet and mirror are also worth having, especially if you can't easy see where the dropped item is hiding.
