Fitting the above in my Consul ..need a few pointers as to the basic wiring needed to get it started and running without all the accessory stuff... Its an auto box...i have the whole wiring loom and ecu's etc....anyone ?

It's been a while since I did one of these, but if the engine came out of a Granada getting it running is easy. The engine loom and ECU separates from the car loom, and needs 3 connections to work - battery, ignition switch and running the output from the fuel pump relay to the pump(try and fit one inside the tank if you can). The ECU drives the rev counter if you want one, the temp gauge sender and alternator wiring are separate.
Can't help with the gearbox, as every one I fitted went on a manual box

I was hoping to strip out all the wires i don't need to get it down to basics under the bonnet....is there anything i should be mindful of..??

The ECU loom is entirely self contained, with a large rubber grommet for the bulkhead, with the ECU mounted in the glovebox area(velcroed to the top of the glovebox in a Capri). It's already neat and tidy with no spare wires.

Was only 3 wires in my old P100 and I used the auto box too. Stuck the ECU behind the dash
