Yes. Café racer. Yes.
I think do minor repairs, but let it show its scars, and café racer it. That white one with the red stripe is as close as I can think. It doesn't need changing, just finishing.

How little effort can you get away with for maximum impact and effect?
I am a fan of reversible graphics.

I think doing the Gulf livery would not do the car any favours as there are so many vehicles done in those colours, whether they had them or not "back in the day", but something period with same-era stripes would look fantastic. That white one looks ace, but to avoid a full respray, why not aim to have just the cracked bits sorted professionally and then incorporate striping on to your existing colour (which is fantastic)

I love that blue color. I would repair and paint where needed. I would like some stripes etc but would stay away from Gulf. It's done to death.

I quite like the red one with the blue smiley face.

Whatever you do,you need to get it done quickly. As history will tell, It will work out a lot cheaper than sending your daughter* to the Goodwood weekender as the official “Frankenhealey” representative in another of your cars ,because this wasn’t ready...😉🤣🤣🤣
*Sorry Lauren, but I did find the AA antics amusing last year 😃

So you have to paint the both the front & rear end due to the repairs - you could attempt to play clever with the paint but it so very rarely works with attempting to blend the paint in - there is no defined edge or seam on the back end and the painter will more than likely have to come down the rear wings to the doors with the paint - they might be lucky and be able to blend the paint in on the roof pillars but if not then that's the roof in paint - which would just leave the 2 doors and few other bits like the sills. The Gulf livery works well but I appreciate quite a few have copied it - so why not reverse it i.e. main body colour in the orange and the stipes maybe the rear panel in the blue - different and bright enough to see you closing the gap in the rear view mirror Number roundels in a light cream to finish the look

I think that the Gulf colours are probably one of the most overrated colour schemes in the history of motorsports.
