I really like this! Dunno why , i'm not a VW guy in any way but i went back to this picture and stored it on my phone. Does anyone know something about it? Hope to find a build thread or similar. Thanks in advance.

Although it doesn't work for me, it's definitely built by someone with great skills that's for sure.

I'm guessing it's a golf rear hatch grafted on to a Metra, which is clever enough. But what in wondering is where did the get the rear side glass?

Pretty sure I saw a thread about it on here once. It’s a Jetta with a Golf hatch on.

I hope someone like neildavies knows something about it. He's a V-dub guy I am, but more of an aircooled guy. I do like this though, the proportions really work. As said before, it looks like a Golf hatch on a Jetta body.

The area code on the sign in the background is Bradford.

First picture i thought it was a golf estate someone had pictured on holiday in spain or somewhere then saw the hatch in the second picture and thought how cheap they make things for some euro countries then read the thread and thought about golf estates looking nothing like this so looked properly there is a lot of work there.

I do like that,
I think the rear side glass could be from a Skoda Felica estate?

I found this online - is it the same car? It’s badged Variant and I think they make those in Brazil? ETA I don’t think it is the same car but a similar idea?

I do like that, I think the rear side glass could be from a Skoda Felica estate? Too big, Felicia estate glass is tiny compared to that. I thought you were onto a winner there.

Is it not the rear side glass from a 3 door with space made by narrowing the D pillar?

Is it not the rear side glass from a 3 door with space made by narrowing the D pillar? Nick The glass on the 3 door doesn't angle forward as much as that window does.. ... unless the glass shape changed during different model years?

Is it not the rear side glass from a 3 door with space made by narrowing the D pillar? Nick Wouldn’t have thought so because the leading edge of the glass is perpendicular to the sill. That’s estate car glass because of the angle for the rear door. 🤔

Love it! Must have been a bit of work in getting it all lined up and welded without warping the roof panel.
Only thing I would possibly change, would be to put a Jetta front on it.
