So, I took my Firebird along to this. I tend not to do this meet every month because, firstly, you can end up seeing the same cars (like mine!) and, secondly, I don't know anybody who goes there that I can stand around chatting to for hours..... One thing about this meet which, for me, wasn't a plus and that was the amount of moderns that were there and, clearly, there to be shown. I'm not sure what modern 'Hot' Ford Focuses and Jag F types are doing mixing it with old tin, ok, I'm old and I may not get it but I was seeing cars there that I could see wandering around Tescos car park. Just a personal opinion. Anyway, as always, excuse the pic quality!

Nice pics, thanks for sharing I know exactly what you mean by the inclusion of new stuff, it’s part of the reason I stopped going to fiestas in the park, if I wanted to see a new ST I’d go to a dealership! Did go to one of these meets a while ago, but it felt really cliquey to me, and didn’t have the interesting stuff you photographed

Generally, this meet doesn't have too much modern content, very noticeable this time though. I think the cliquey aspect may be down to people belonging to local car groups and meeting up? I think you have a point, mind you, I am not THE most outgoing of people!

Retro/classic meets in Norfolk are the equivalent to something shiney to a magpie, people are just drawn to them no matter what the meet's criteria is. It seems most people with modern cars see a meet advertise and attend regardless of who's meet it is I stopped going as I thought my 1992 MX5 didnt fit in due to it being too heavily modified, now my 2001 R34 would be deemed too modern despite it being a 'rarer' car I think Bear's Grill should cap the year for vehicles like East Coast Retros do, IMO

Only thing I would say in defence of Norfolk events is that the small show and autojumble in thurton later on the year (June?) is brilliant, great turnout and very popular, will post dates when I find them 😀

I find it a great event, I was only in the Crossfire this time as I'd taken a deposit on the Model T so didn't want to risk driving it. I've got no problem at all with the more modern stuff, If one doesn't interest me. I can just walk on by.
I chatted with lots of friends and with some folks I hadn't seen before.
Bears Grille is a business so needs a good turnout to make it pay and keep the event going. if the owners of the older stuff don't go the percentage of newer cars naturally goes up, so lets stop whining, take our old cars there and chat to anyone who has a car that interests us.
Whenever the next one is, I'll be there, hopefully in my soon to be collected South African El Camino. Come and say hi.
