My son made me a shelf for my garage wall, the tyre is of a Porsche 935 which did the Nurburgring 24hr. He brought it back from the Spa 6hrs this year. His company had a stall there. My mate bought me a tin sign for the wall. And my wife bought me a W.T. Author 1968 Automotive Edition watch, (I asked for the Gulf shades) wtauthor.com/chapters/automotive-watches/ All in all, Result!! But the tyre will take some hanging where its 15" depth won't be in the way.

My better half got me a 2020 Land Rover Defender with drivetrain problems. I might be the cause of those as I built it myself from Lego bricks. My kids got me a 1:18 scale TVR Sagaris 😁 My dad got me a set of UNC screws, bolts and nuts which are hard to get here in metric Norway 😉

Cable ties, screen wipes and microfibre cloths, weird magnetic wrist strap (supposedly you put the metal fasteners on it so you don’t loose them) 3 train tickets for Saturday.

Does the magnetic wrist strap work for arthritis? 😀 Pretty much what I first thought, but no it is for putting nuts and bolts etc, as far as I can see that means you are then down to one hand to work with, does not surprise me, few years ago she bought me a comprehensive bicycle tool kit, don’t let me not having a bicycle put her off 😁

We don't focus too much on the presents here, but we still give out one or two, and I was given an airbrush by my dad, and a portable DAB radio by my uncle, both of which will see service shortly in car-related endeavours. And socks of course, isn't that obligatory?

Did i get anything? apart from tears i certainly did! Choked me up! I am usually pretty good when it comes to noticing if there is a 'set up' but this time, i lost for words, still choking me up as i type. I passed my module 2 a couple of weeks ago, and said to my girlfriend, i am not fussed about a bike, i need to get the bloody Escort finished, then, i will decide whether or not to sell it to fund a bike plus another car (project) or, if i like the Escort and i get my 'mojo' back, i will save for a bike......

I spent a tonne of money on materials for restoring various parts of my car in December, so I told my wife not to waste any money buying me anything else. So technically my Christmas present was a few hundred quids worth of bodywork repair and respraying consumables. My mother-in-law is an absolute diamond at Christmas. She really puts effort in to buying something that one might actually be interested in rather than just something generic from a shop. She does it every year. Only ever a small thing, but it's obvious she puts a bit of research into it, tracks down something that relates to my current car. This year she found me this... Okay, it's only a book, but she knows nothing about cars and she lives out in the middle of the wild moors north of Newcastle. But she takes the time to ask my wife what my car is, then gets on the internet and tracks down something that I stand a good chance of being interested in. In this case a book that was sent directly to her from the author in the US. I'm always touched by the effort she makes to make it relevant.

Think I gave more car related presents than I received.
My youngest nephew got a book on Minis and a Binky beanie.
I got a "Silverstone Experience" which appears to be a museum trip.
Don't think a Hobbs & Shaw DVD really counts.
