I love the vehicles but sadly don't think theres much use for them in the UK (happy to be proven wrong on that though) Europe is just over there ----> and as far as I know Brexit doesn't mean we get dragged into the North Atlantic. Could definitely make for some good road trips. Or even go wild and drive it down to Africa Yeah to this and bear in mind, a few more cm in sea level rises as a result of melting ice in the artic and much of the south east and east midlands might be a little more exciting sooner than you'd think.

HoTWire I have a Forester I want to lower - maybe we should be swapping our shocks!!?! (though a Forester is hardly 'high' Not mine. Edit ICON FJ restomods seem to fit the bill. I would totally tool about in one of these if the budget allowed (Land Cruiser prices are through the roof because of Jonathan Ward) And 101s make a great base ( if you have your own petrol refinery) Also I'll just put this here. Thanks Elon.

Lots of backpackers get them over here. Pathfinders, xtrails, challengers etc are all fair game, as 2 adults can lie down in the back, you have room for a fridge, and can strap surfboards to the roof and bikes to the tow bar.
I'm looking at doing something similar for my next vehicle.

HoTWire I have a Forester I want to lower - maybe we should be swapping our shocks!!?! What year Forester? The ones from 2003 add a good amount to the ride height of the Impreza. In fact the blue one in surprisingskodas post is running Forester suspension I believe.

HoTWire Mine's an SF5 2001 model (Mk1 refresh) so not the SG you're mentioning. Ach well.... The Outback lift job they did on a Legacy saloon (aka Liberty) on MCM recently is a similar swap - worth a watch if you didn't see it...

This would convert nicely I think. Liking the idea of a raised scooby, had the same thoughts as probably make faster progress on raised 'rally spec' suspension round our way than on low's as the roads are so bad. Realised that I actually went slower down some local roads in the borrowed wrx than the family CRV as just too umcomfortable James

This would convert nicely I think. I know you mean the LT but T25 Syncros are also great lifted. (and greater than great with a Suby or VR6 swap)

I love overlanders! It's something I'd like my Patrol to finish up as, in an ideal world. I think they make a lot of sense in places like Australia and the USA where you can have big country on your doorstep (relatively speaking), but there's still enough greenery on our little island to disappear into, especially up in Scotland. Here's a cool little nugget I found some time ago. I love the idea of starting out with such a tiny vehicle!

Do you sleep standing up? Perhaps it's more of a pop top to give some headroom whilst in the back, although this pic seems to suggest it is used for sleeping: Maybe the owner is extremely short... Or sleeps with their legs dangling out of the door...

More t3/t25 dokas: I believe there was a version built for NATO or the UN that had a really neat purpose-built bed-mounted storage / cover thing - perfect for overlanding. Let me see if I can find a pic. Oh this one has one of those inflatable tents on it - neat and cheaper than those crazy-expensive folding ones.
