When I was out there in 2001 there were loads of old toyota corona's, Mitsubushi colt estates, Ford LIMITED (what a dumb name) and ford lasers/mazda 323/626's
The vailant / vallant was a real oddity - but not as ugly as the photos suggest.
What I found amazing were the airport car parks -- Loads of old motors of every type with messages written on them telling you where the keys were hidden - They couldn't sell the car so left it in the car park - Trouble with this method was the car parking charges sometimes outweighed the cost of the car. www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/national/backpackers-dumping-cars-at-airport-before-fleeing-country-cause-600000-parking-towing-fees/news-story/76d312e76fae7b51dd82d85ac00293d7?sv=7d7001f8df818214f980ef2bf558ea3a
I knew a few people that picked up their cars this way.
