Done a bit of a search but so far drawn a blank.
Car is an 05 Cooper S convertible - problem is a s follows.
Drive car with lights on and then parked it. Noticed from kitchen window that osf light in bumper is on and when I went outside the rear lights where flashing on and off. Unlocked car and sounds like a 'shorting' noise coming from under dash drivers side. Turned ignition on and everything back to normal, locked car and all good.
Next day driving with lights on and all go off - turned lights on and off and came back on.
Was driving over bumpy road at time and on both occasions it was raining.
Have looked under the dash for obvious signs of burnt wire or water ingress nothing.
Thinking that it is a potential body earth issue but not sure, so before taking it all apart, wanted to see if anybody else had seen a similar problem and how it was resolved. Any idea how I could test the system for faults? Apparently it went to a BMW garage prior to be coming into my possession and they said it need a new battery (which it got).
Thanks in advance.
