Hello!
Yet another PCD related question here.
I’m looking at buying a dull, modern, cheap tax daily and of course wondered about changing the wheels and lowering it. Oddly the PCD size is 5x115 which I haven’t come across before.
I know that 5x114.3 is popular with J Chaps so there is a huge selection of wheels, I also know there is a lot of wheel choice from the Vag side of things at 5x112.
Many years ago, I don’t know if they’re still about, were wobble bolts. Are wobble bolts still a thing and how much of a difference can they cater for? Also, are they a safe thing? I’ve run PCD adaptors and spacers preciously with no real complaints to be honest.
Any help on the matter would be fantastic.
Thanks.

That pcd is fairly common on yank stuff, you could probably get a set of wheels that fit shipped over rather than use dodgy bolts.

The variance between 115 and 114.3 is less than 0.5%
Or look at it the other way, 0.35mm per stud. That’s less than the thickness of a layer of paint, and tbh not far off the tolerance the wheels, hubs and studs are manufactured to. If you bolted them up I doubt you’d be able to tell they weren’t the same pcd, I think wobble bolts would be unnecessary in such a situation.

Thanks for the help!
I was looking earlier online at 5x115 wheels and a pair of dodge wheels appeared, then upon searching for those wheels specifically it came up with a mix of 5x114.3 and 5x115 descriptions for the same wheel. I’m sure a quick measure by the majority may appear as 115mm.
I’ll buy a set try them on and see what happens.
Thanks very much again.

What uses 5x115 these days? I’d guess it’s a typo...5x112 is reasonably common, as is 5x114.3 but 5x115 is a new one on me.

Like you I thought It was a typo as id never heard of it, but newer Vauxhalls seem to have it which is what I'm looking at and multiple articles have said the same thing, unless they're all getting their information from the same, incorrect, source.

It certainly looks like they’ve gone to an oddball size over the last 10 years. Every days a school day!

Wobble bolts will work fine if you have centre location. Nothing 'dodgy' about them. Forcing them on the wrong sided hub.. a little dodgey! Will probably work tho!
