I'm looking for a Vectra C GSI 3.2 auto in green, don't laugh I'm a sick puppy and it's a long story. Anyway, I obviously can't find one because of my strict criteria but I was wondering if there was anywhere I'm not looking or is it just because they are pretty rare and usually scrapped when something breaks? I'm looking at; Autotrader Ebay Gumtree Car & Classic Vectra forum Various search all platforms like newsnow etc. Facebook ( I have trouble navigating the hateful place) Anywhere else I should be looking? And of course if you have one or know of someone selling one then please let me know. Thanks, Retro as penance.

My mate in the workshop next door to me just broke the exact car you’re looking for and weighed most of it in. Problem is value, he got 4x breaking it as what anyone would pay for it whole. When you can get as much for the front brakes as the whole car sells for, don’t expect them to come up for sale as on the road cars very often.

Wish I could help, I worked for Vauxhall in Manchester and the boss had a blue Gsi auto and on occasion I got to borrow it, what a machine i absolutely loved it, got to drive a Vxr later and didn’t get the same feeling but maybe I was expecting too much (the Vxr may be quicker on paper ?) Best of luck with your search :-)

Thanks, yes it is the 3.2 GSI that I want and in green, I'm not that keen on the 2.8 unit I like a nice big naturally aspirated engine. I think I might struggle but it gives me something to look for everyday!

If one came up in an incorrect colour, could you save up to have it wrapped? Or have a go yourself?

If one came up in an incorrect colour, could you save up to have it wrapped? Or have a go yourself? I have thought about getting one and having it resprayed. It's an option albeit costly and it doesn't make financial sense but if all else fails I could go down that route. As far as I can gather there are only 76 GSI autos left, how many of them are green? I have no idea....

Still can't find anything, I think I'm to late to the party they seem to have all fell into the wrong hands due to their relatively inexpensiveness and then obviously all been abused and some very badly I can't even find a nice one in any colour let alone green. There is literally nothing out there, most are being broken for spares My search may be over before it's even began.....

There's a decent looking silver one on the bay of evil. Does it have to be an auto?

There's a decent looking silver one on the bay of evil. Does it have to be an auto? Yes, I realise I'm limiting myself with my criteria but if I could find a green auto I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for it. I've just always wanted one since it was new but it appears I waited too long.

I think you might be set for disappointment, there wasn't many autos to start with and they're of an age where they are seen as disposable.

Your car is out there somewhere Just a case of waiting and continually scouring the net I’m hoping to find a mint W202 Mercedes auto, again the right car must be out there just a waiting game

Your car is out there somewhere Just a case of waiting and continually scouring the net I’m hoping to find a mint W202 Mercedes auto, again the right car must be out there just a waiting game I know, I know but I've been searching for about a year and did find one right at the start of my search that was local to me, my excitement was high, however the car was an absolute dog and I passed it over. I think the guy scrapped it in the end. I'm starting to wish I had bought it and brought it back to life but it was a mess, waterpump had gone, it was obvious just listening to the thing! Which had led to no coolant in the expansion tank which had led to overheating and the head gaskets going, The guy selling it was oblivious to all of this as I was pointing it out, he had just been saying to me "I don't know anything about cars but it goes like stink!" poor old girl Body was in rag order too and as it was at the beginning of my search I thought I'd just find a better one. How wrong was I, the owner of that car seems to be the type of owner these cars now attract and as such they are dying and quickly. I'll keep looking of course but I'm not holding my breath. Thanks for the encouragement though, it is much appreciated.
