Hi all, Just had my 205 back from the garage where it had a new crank seal and cambelt. Popped the cover off and surprised to find the new belt way off centre. It is even hanging off the pulley. Any thoughts on why, or how to correct this? Thanks

Did they renew the tensioner and water pump? If not, that’s probably the issue. You need to stop driving that and have it checked immediately. To be honest most garages won’t replace just the cambelt on it’s own these days so if that’s what they have done, that isn’t really ideal.

Rich - thanks very much. They have been out to look at it, seems the stud that the tensioner sits on is bent. It was fine before it went in. Anyway, desperately trying to find a new one, but looking unlikely before Sunday (gutted). I'll see how the search goes today.

Cambelt KIT (with tensioner, not just the belt) usually includes a new stud and nut for the tensioner. Worth checking with a few parts places to see if they have one with the mounting hardware.

Thanks again Rich, picked up a new stud from Peugeot today...£5. The mechanic who who did the work says he is coming back tomorrow to sort it out... hopefully in time for RR in Sunday. I'm just glad I checked the belt.
