I think we deserve a thread on the much ignored classic trailer. Helping out with a house clearance unearthed this absolute beauty. It was once an INVACAR from 1967 It once looked like this I don't know if this was a popular conversion at the time but I can't think of a better use for a written off 3 wheeler!

I’ve got this East German jobby that’s stood the test of time. Was once that lovely shade of cigarette cream! Will be on e-bay soon.

I have been contemplating signing up to this forum for a while now and the OPs post just made me do so I want to say many thanks to the OP for posting the picture of the AC Model 64 VIN plate as someone who is very enthusiastic about Invacars and has been intensively researching them for the past year or so that VIN plate has provided me with a good bit of new information (up until now, I had only had a picture of a Petrol Metal Acedes VIN plate, but I had nothing for the electric variant) for those wondering it would originally been attached to one of these, which is an AC Model 64 the AC Model 64, was the Electric version built on request of the government of the Metal AC Acedes (Model 57) which was powered by a 197cc Villiers 11E 2 Stroke engine otherwise the 2 looked identical (Save for the fact the Petrol Acedes had louvered rear vents where as the Electric ones had no vents)

There was a similar themed thread on here a while back about trailers made out of cars. These are some of my favourites;

That capri one is probably one of the best ive ever seen, looks like a proper job. My dad had an old trailer that he built himself in the late 70's. It was a lovley thing, weighed a fair bit but was madeproperly. It stood in the garden for a couple of years and after he passed on I was going to restore it. When I started I soon discovered the side panels were full of woodworm and the base had gone rotten, the frame really bad for rust in places, but it wouldnt have been impossible to restore. Needless to say I scrapped it. Kinda wish I hadnt now.

Thankyou for the info - it seems a shame someone turned it into a trailer! - At least they left the vin plate - Do you own many of these curious cars?

Thanks indeed it very much is a shame it was turned into a trailer, as there are very few AC Acedes invalid Tricycles that still survive to this day with the electric ones being the rarest out of the Metal AC Acedes (I say Metal, as the Invalid Car AC made that came after the Metal AC Acedes, was also called the AC Acedes but was made of fibreglass) at current I own REV451R a 1976 Invacar Model 70, ill be starting a thread on her soon hopefully Id love to acquire more in the future!

Sad to think that 2 Capris had to die to create it, unless he used new panels which seems unlikely. My Dad also made a solid old trailer which involved slaying a caravan for its chassis; ostensibly for his yacht it carried everything you could think of for years.

Slightly off topic but does anyone else have problems with other people when towing, regardless of what I'm pulling, it never ceases to amaze me the faith others have in my ability to tie things onto my trailer/towed car/boat/caravan. I try to keep up with the flow of traffic, where it's at a legal speed for towing, but invariably I end up with some idiot so close behind that if anything did fall off they'd hit it before it hits the road. Is it just me?

Is it just me? That's exactly what I experience too, so annoying and scary too, even if one tries to secure the cargo you can never be too sure, and I can't understand why it's so hard to either keep a safe distance or pass?

I've seen a few times near where I live (North Manchester area) a Reliant Robin trailer, just like this but in green. I don't think it was pulled by anything retro though. (this isn't my photo, just the nearest image I could find)

I caught this one at Silverstone many moons ago. What a strange day that was. Given that its just the back ends of an Allegro saloon and estate, it makes for an incredibly good shape imo.

Currently driving a 1972 BMW 1602 as my daily. Don't ask about previous cars - there have been way too many and I stopped counting at 160!
