For Land Rover to build an engine that will stand up on its own when you take it out of the car? 200tdi's actively try to fall over when you lower the crane, usually on the oil cooler pipes, and having just removed a td5 from a discovery it's just as bad. Cue lots of blocks of wood to keep it upright

If they did you'd be putting all those block of wood makers out of a job

Aha, I have a cunning plan for this, as the owner of several wood burner stoves my mates all drop pallets etc off at mine, so no block manufacturing required 😀

I always have blocks of wood in the garage "just in case". I always find a use for them

Try keeping a BMW slant six upright and on a bread trolley as you push it about on bumpy concrete......

Try keeping a BMW slant six upright and on a bread trolley as you push it about on bumpy concrete...... I have what's left of a P38 range rover diesel, which still has the engine fitted because of this, does that make it double jeopardy, landy and BMW?🤔

The B202 saab with gearbox sits perfectly flat on a table, although I didn't completely release the chain. Changing the damn alternator drive belts was another level of pain though. Even though there are two they still snap at the same time .... My wrists are now so shot it's tough to type!
