Needless to say we shall be making our annual pilgrimage to Revival again this year - along with circa 15 other Jowett's - we form part of the Goodwood Revival Transport Corps by operating the cars as taxis running from the Kennels (GRRC members club) & the Goodwood Hotel down to the period circuit taxi rank & vice versa - but on a shift basis so that we get time off to enjoy the event - My 1952 Javelin will be on taxi duties My other half - loves the event & the period dress element of it A fellow Jowett Car Club member is driving his 1950 Javelin the 800 miles from Switzerland for the event I shall be on site from Thursday 12th Sept for the entire weekend - by all means come and say hello - you will normally find me in & out of the taxi rank or up at the Kennels but we also stay on the campsite if you fancy meeting for a beer / over the road etc Hot off the press though is that this Jowett will be competing in the St Marys Trophy

Is the 'taxi' running alright now after all the problems you have had?

I'll be back for the first time in a few years. The clothing element of the event is taken very seriously in my household, so I'm hoping my outfit is up to snuff.

Is the 'taxi' running alright now after all the problems you have had? Yep it would appear in fine fettle currently - just about to exhume it from the barn over the weekend and give it a clean up has it's heading North the following weekend to attend various events

I'll be back for the first time in a few years. The clothing element of the event is taken very seriously in my household, so I'm hoping my outfit is up to snuff. Mrs GN being a very well respected costumer in film & theatre land takes it all in her stride and takes separate outfits for each day of the event - and I have to pass inspection 3 times a day !! - hopefully catch up with you at some stage over the weekend

We'll be there as always, Sunday this year. I've missed one year so far and that was because it was our wedding day - so we had a revival-themed wedding instead. Being on or near our anniversary, it also means it's a guaranteed day out each year to something we both enjoy 😉

The St Marys Trophy is a 2 driver race one being the owner driver of the car (Julian Crossley) the other being an invited celebrity driver with race credentials (you just hope that it's someone that is very experienced & competitive) - we have just learnt whom the co driver is - non other than race car owner in his own right & team principal of the F1 Red Bull team 'Christian Horner'

Chris - What events are you coming North for? Apologies for the slow response - currently planning a 5 day - 5 event trip with the Javelin On Friday I am heading to the Bradford Industrial Museum to undertake a inspection on a 1938 Jowett 10 that is a future project for the club members and the business - then stay overnight in Bradford Saturday - Back to the Museum for the Jowett Car Clubs annual Employees Reunion (all welcome / FOC event) then travel down to Warwick to stay overnight Sunday - Attend the annual Warwick Classic Car Show - then up to Lichfield for a overnight stay Monday - Curborough Race Circuit - One of my fellow Jowett Car Club members has hired the circuit for the day in order to put some trial times / testing on his Jowett Jupiter race car but he also takes a handful of his other classics / track cars to push round the circuit and throws the invite open to club members to attend - we can also use the circuit if we wish to - although my Javelin would be nothing but a slow mobile road block on a circuit - then travel home to Hampshire in the late afternoon Tuesday - Back in the Javelin and an hour up the road to the 'Heritage Skills Academy' whom have a Jowett Javelin under restoration and I am attending on the clubs behalf to assist with restoration - then back home that evening Then come home to do a quick service on the Javelin and start to exhume the camping kit in preparation for Revival
