Last year at the Gathering just before the lunch break started we had an assortment of "vehicles" attempting to set the world record for the slowest ascent of Shelsley Walsh hill climb This was one driven by MrSpeedy Retro Rides Gathering, 19th August 2018 by It's Mr Pants, on Flickr I didn't think that picture gave an idea of the scale but this one does as evidenced by front man gewy (who incidently is 4 ft 2 inches in high heels} providing the scale kevfromwales drove this And then of course we had Mystery Machine with the thingy unimog whatsit (I still don't know what it's called) Anyway I digress it was a very serious attempt to set a new record - we had an official from the Guinness Book of Records there with stopwatch in hand - we had all competitors wearing all the appropriate safety equipment - we had the full complement of marshals and medics on the hill And suddenly we had an issue - I got a phone call for someone at the MSA who said we couldn't actually time as the event wasn't sanctioned So we sent them up anyway and didn't time them Should we do this again and what else do people have that could complement an entry from MrSpeedy in the Little Tykes car as it has been considerably upgraded since last year - Slick tyres and an uprated clutch PS some of the above may not be true PPS I may get a smack for some of it

I've got an old bmx doing nothing. I've got a cherry bomb which is too small for my cars. I've got plans to bodge up a pulse engine and cable tie the lot together.
Two problems. I only thought of doing it yesterday so it'd be for next year if I don't blow myself up. And it'd be very very noisy.
Oh, problem number three. I just publicly said I'm going to try and do it. 😪

All very much in the spirit of RR Two problems. I only thought of doing it yesterday so it'd be for next year if I don't blow myself up. OK well I'd rather you didn't blow yourself up. And it'd be very very noisy. No noise limits at Shelsley Oh, problem number three. I just publicly said I'm going to try and do it. 😪 Do it

Are there any rules, guidelines, or "do not's" for this?
I have some 'stuff' which if put together could provide transportation with varying levels of potential epic and fail....

No rules but we reserve the right to say no to someone who puts a saddle on an exocer missile with pram wheels and rope for steering and thinks that it would be OK to lauch it up the hill The idea would be different and slow (ish) and something that encompasses the spirit of RR (wheels and a tap with the stick) If you want to run something past me by all means ping me an email on track@retro-rides.org
