Who else here has a an old tractor still working. I have this one which is a late 1950s Fordson Dexta. Things have changed a little since I first got her she now runs nicely and is fitted with a front end loader, which is more than a little useful.

The Li'l Grey Fergie (TED20) earning it's keep bashing bracken & thistles. On the way to t'top field I went through town and aficionados came out of pubs and shops to watch. Funniest thing was the womenfolk dragging their menfolk along the pavement saying 'You're not having one!' and the men looking like sulky children (which we are if we can't have a tractor )

My old Nuffield 460 (1961). Use it for moving dirt etc around the farm, grading my dirt tracks, has a large slasher and also a PTO mounted auger which works well for drilling fences in and also for drilling large 800mm holes (large auger) for planting trees.. no mudguards at present as they are receiving rust repairs, well rotted out. Needs power steering, bastward heavy at slow speeds!
Also have a working Nuffield universal 3 (1953), it mainly tows a 2000L water tank around and occasional slashing duties, and a Nuffield PM4 (1952) which is under repair- rusty fuel tank, steering etc...

My Dexta is bloody heavy at low speeds I find putting a decent counterweight on the 3 point linkage when using the fore end loader makes a really big difference.

Here is ours, a mid 70s Leyland 154 with the BMC 1500 disesel engine Here its just turned the hay Turned the hay with an old Vicon Acrobat, great tool with very little to go wrong Then bailed the hay with this old IH440 baler, a bit big for the Leyland but it manages 520 bales of organic hay later, stuffed into storage!

i.imgur.com/5rB5n60.jpgHere's our Fergie this evening, we just use it for dragging a trailer around our smallholding but when I've fixed the PTO we'll be buying a couple of attachments for it. Posting a pic on here is wayyy too complicated so you'll have to click the link.

You just have to love the older machines, good to know they're still in active use not parked up and unloved
