Well...... craigrk and I are both as bad as each other. We are always coming up with random stuff to make, create or recycle. Getting each other excited and worked up till we make rash decisions So this thread will hopefully OUT-RANDOM the Random stuff some of you have come to expect from us. Feel free to add, comment, advise and most importantly donate bits if you feel you can improve what’s being created. So yesterday I stopped at the scrapyard on the way home to look for some bits we needed for this little project. WISH LIST: Go kart wheels Pram wheels. Old or new Radio Flyer body Galvanised bath (small) Plastic pedal tractor engine. Anvil Get my drift yet?? Found a tractor. Minus motor. Got home with these. So after a mid year discussion with my boss today I stopped over at Craigs place off J9 of the M25 (Big mistake) on the way home to pick up some more bits and drop stuff off for him. Back seat of my car, also had a roll of roofing felt for Sally’s shed roof. Eventually got home at 7pm as the M25 had a 75 minute delay on the way back. Unpacked the car. Fed the cat. Laid out the basics. Added colour. Get the idea yet?? Draw along bootfair or swapmeet, car show wagon. So there you go. Let’s see what next.

Like where this is going, I've got a radio flyer in the garage I got cheap I want to do similar with... Bookmarked Welcome to our happy place!!!! Let's start with the load of carp grizz palmed off on me when I went to drop his wheel off last Friday. Everything, including the kitchen sink!!! Here's a few more random pictures of the stuff I picked up. I won't talk you through it all, but grizz managed to source a number of bits for me that I needed for various projects, quite a bit of it related to our caravan. Missing from the pictures are the bicycle and drift trike he got for my daughter.

So project one. The kitchen sink!! We sold our motorhome earlier this year and got a caravan which is on a seasonal pitch, so grizz has been helping us source things. We decided that we wanted a sink in the awning to avoid using the one in the caravan, so grizz donated this one and also located a tap for £2 at a bootfair (which you might recall him posting). But actually, let's start with a "Tip Treasure". I noted that my neighbour across the way was having some built in wardrobes ripped out and replace, so I asked if I could have the old wood, hence, acquired this: Elli (my 6 year old) helped with the stripping and de-nailing. Combined with some other wood I had stored in the rafters (I'm not a hoarder me!!), I built a frame for the sink: I then went off to B&Q to buy some plumbing fittings, etc and after hooking them all up did some testing: Oh dear, leaking from the body where the spout connects, but only when the tap is open!! Well after quite a bit of faffing about I figured out how to dismantle the tap (brute force and ignorance did it!!). I scraped off a lot and calcium deposits and cleaned the seals as well as I could. Improvement, but not perfect... So I've ordered so o-rings that I guess are the right size as the tap manufacturer has gone out of business so I can't figure out where to buy the right seals. The o-rings are £1.79 so not breaking the bank. Tap and drain pipes fitted And sink cleaned (first pass) using its own tap and drain (into bucket) So its waiting to be dismantled (frame is designed to flatpack) and moved to caravan and installed. The tall legs at the back are for a splashback. I'm thinking some Dibond (aluminium composite sign material) will be great as it is light weight. Need to consider the end of season storage. The other project completed at the weekend was the modification of 3 of Ikea's pine Trofast units into one large one. You may recall photos of grizz using Prozac to collect one of them for me. All were bought at bargain prices rather than new from Ikea. The original units are stepped, possibly for under stairs, etc, I modified them to make a rectangular full height unit. The finished unit:

If I awake with a garden fork in my back, look only at Sally for an explanation. Her beans were planted in the old enamel bath I needed for progress Swapped around. Then after cleaning it out, down to the garage to further mock up bits and get a general idea of what the look my end up as. Flat Rod Solid wheels Dragster. I think I know which look works for me so far. In the absence of a Radio Flyer type tray.

Been looking for a used, dead Radio Flyer tub to use on this build. Tonight I managed to get this Hazel tray and a bunch of tools. Should make a nice tray. Not as nice as @johnnybravo has been able to snag, but happy to have a better part than the porta potty.

So last night the sun set was even better, having snagged the Hazet tray. Up at 5am, thanks to Harley, then 28 miles to fetch my prize. Took Prozac in the end as it’s just such a nice tool. Thankfully as there were some really narrow lanes to get there and the Blazer is rather wide. Nice guy the seller. Tools. Included was a mini tabletop Workmate with all of its parts, and a serious woodmans axe. And mocked up. Looks like we are in business.

Discovered this in my shed. Really nice steering gear. Sally was helping me unpack the tools from the box. Big ones. Little ones. Included in the tools were quite a few SnapOn tools Eventually got it all unpacked, sorted. Look closely at just how many tools this purchase netted. Eventually we got to this mock up. Other end. When I shut the garage and walked up, I realised just how nicely the relaunched garden has come up. Thanks to Sally. I guess next will be the actual build. After this. We headed out to the Sheppeyncar meet in the Blazer Much more fun than be allowed.

That looks epic grizz, perfect patina on everything, get it welded together and get filling it at the boot fairs Going to try only use existing bolt holes etc. Keep it as intact as possible, in case it goes back to being part of a Hazet tool tray again in future. Was offered this last night. Only problem....... It’s in Florida, near Cape Canavral

Well.... I created one. (A wagon) Craig really wanted a Radio Flyer based wagon. Last night Sally saw one listed on FB Marketplace for £15.00 which is crazy low, 22 minutes after it got listed. So we jumped on it from here and got craigrk onto it. Today he did a detour from London to Streatham to pick it up. Happy camper. Couple of stations. Little Red Wagon on an adventure. A road trip really. On the train. Standing room only. Back to Leatherhead and into the back of the AMG ML500 donor for the 50 Chevy truck. Happy wagon.

Only worth the money someone is prepared to put in my grubby paw to be able to walk away with it. Seeing an ad on eBay does not mean I would get lucky, but hey...... if they do bring the cash, then of course.

The reality is that the base tub is the part that is probably likely to survive the best, hence the least sought after (my father had one of these back the day, so I know from personal experience that the trays and top suffer). We did agree that the best approach would be to use the original fixing holes, etc so that if required the trolley could be reverted. But of course, it all stands to grizz 's point, that it's worth what someone will drop in in his palm, so if someone stumbles upon it (or is referred to this thread), then commercial discussions can always take place...
