Recently bought a 1995 Nissan Vanette with the 2.0 Diesel LD20 engine with 117000 miles. Its the 1987-1995 shape vanette.
I was told it was running when parked roughly 3 years ago (I was only told that, no idea if its true).
I am getting diesel up to the fuel filter and I am getting a good flow to the injection pump from the filter.
On turning the engine over there is no pressure coming out of the injection pump, For every turn of the engine (or so) you might get one dribble of fuel at the injectors.
The stop solenoid appears to be working, when powered there is a distinct clicking noise, I removed it to inspect and it did not appear stuck or seized in any way. On turning the engine over with the stop solenoid removed there is still no pressure out of the pump, only dribbles.
I have turned the engine on the starter for at least 2-3 minutes over the course of the past few days.
Is there any chance the pump is still air locked?, I cannot see any bleed points on the pump itself.
I am hoping the pump has not failed but it is beginning to look like this is the case, Any help appreciated.
