I'd have though a Jeep Wagoneer would hit the spot? You'd almost certainly need to import one to get it in budget. Other affordable 60's wagons; Chevrolet Belair Station Wagon Ford Fairlane Ranch Wagon Plymouth Satellite Station Wagon Ford LTD Station Wagon (woody effect) Ford Falcon Station Wagon Chevrolet Caprice Station Wagon

One thing to consider is are you REALLY able to use such a vehicle as you intend? They’re around 18-20ft long and 8ft wide. You can’t park them in most car parking spaces, narrower country and village roads are an issue, and they don’t fit in most UK garages. I know loads of people who bought full-size Americans and got rid as they can’t hack em. It’s more like driving a LGV than a car. If any of the above are a consideration, I look at a falcon or similar. They’re about the same size as modern estate cars at 6ish feet wide and 15-16” feet long , so are truly usable in all conditions. Didn’t think about that either. Are they not similar size to a modern Range Rover? No, they’re bigger. My ‘63 falcon wagon (a ‘compact’ in the states) is the same size as a modern large estate car length wise, maybe a touch narrower. It’s about 16 foot long and 6 foot wide. It’s already 9” longer than the sedan because it’s a wagon. It overhangs literally every parking space everywhere length wise but is ok regards width. It’s currently parked next to a ‘66 Lincoln Continental, which is a true full-size. The Lincoln is 3 feet longer and a bit over a foot wider. A galaxie which is the ford-branded full-size would be the same size as the Lincoln. Then there’s also the mid-size fairlane range that would come about halfway between the two. If you go earlier cars were a bit smaller, it was the 50s wen they grew. My shoebox ford (49-51) is the same size as the falcon. But by ‘58 fords main model range had grown by over 3feet in length, as had most other manufacturers.

The '67 Ford Galaxie wagon is a pretty good size. Two rows of bench seats with a massive boot which also has a rear facing rumble seat.

That’s the biggest concern sending money half way across the world then hoping they actually send the car. I’m not in a position to buy one yet, more just doing some reasearch on to what Might be a good choice. I like mk5 Cortina estates, but want some American

Coxy914@me.com I have known Coxy for a very long time, and know the cars he builds, restores and owns generally are high end, or made to be that way. My mate Dennis in the USA who has owned more cars than disasterbus has never seen one. I will only add in three here. The seats, dash etc are magnificent The roof lining is spectacular
