Here’s YOUR chance to become part of an exclusive club…
It is with a heavy heart that I put my Honda up for sale. My new job comes with a much longer commute so I cannot justify keeping the old girl around – she just wouldn’t get used…and she deserves to be. That, and other projects have turned my head…
3.5l V6 automatic – the only flavour on offer
Full, clean MOT until next April – no advisories!
She’s clearly not standard – and I bought her needing a few jobs doing. Since I’ve owner her she’s had
Auto box flush x 2, and auto box filter replacement – she smooths seamlessly through the gears.
Rear right abs sensor replaced (this cured the TCS and ABS lights on the dash) – had to go to America to get the part! (okay, I didn’t have to, but it was fun…)
Both front O2 sensors replaced. Didn’t mean to, I changed out the wrong one. Solved the EML light.
Cleaned out the wiper bottle and replaced the washer jets as they were clogged and corroded
THE BAD
Couple of dings and scrapes on the outside – she’s a big old thing
Exterior trim around the rear bumper won’t click into place. I’ve been trying to source a replacement but they’re like hen’s teeth.
Boot release button doesn’t work by the driver’s foot – very annoying – but it works on the keyfob button and key obviously.
Rear left electric window doesn’t work – I can hear something so I have a suspicion that the glass has fallen out of the runner, but I’m not sure…never investigated.
No record of the cambelt being done recently and I’ve not got around to doing it – it would be high on my list if she was staying.
Too many silly stickers and other tat
Hates speed bumps and cambered roads
Occasionally squeaky fanbelt. Never really bothered me.
That’s really about it for negatives. Air Con blows cold, all the buttons work, steering wheel controls spot on, sunroof is smooth, cruise control perfect, electric memory seats in the front work faultlessly, steering wheel is on a motor and moves down to greet you beautifully, electric mirrors all good, she shifts through the gears seamlessly and can really move if pushed – but that’s not what she’s about. MPG is as you’d expect – high teens around town, low to mid 20s on a decent run. Insurance is surprisingly reasonable for a 3.5 V6 – mods declared, no NCB, 2 previous accidents on a classic policy is about £400 for the year.

So, the facts…

She’s sat on coilovers modified from a Honda Accord and wound down pretty much as far as they will go. This leads to a tiny bit of scrapeage, but there’s plenty of room to go up again. ‘C’ spanners included 😊 The ride is firm but not unpleasant, and I much prefer it to the mushy.
17” multi-fit alloys on skinny tyres…215 40 on the back, 205 40 on the front IIRC – oodles of tread.

Comes with original wheels (although the tyres are cracked and perished) and the original suspension (along with £100 worth of brand new top mounts all round) should you wish to return her to stock. I had to drill out the original top mounts to fit the new shocks in place. I’ll put the OEM stereo and bits back in when I get the chance
Available to view Nr. Stansted, Essex although will be at the Weekender this…er…weekend! I’m in no rush to sell but happy to listen to offers. PM for more details, and thanks for looking
