Jaguar XJR Supercharged X300 on LPG
Up for sale is our supercharged Jag!
We’ve owned this car for about two and a half years and have thoroughly enjoyed our ownership. I’ve decided to put it up for sale as it’s got a few annoying faults that I’m never going to get around to fixing, realistically, and I've got too many cars to look after, though it’s still MOT’ed and in frequent use. Mileage is 153k
Good points:
Underneath of car is very solid as I had a lot of high quality welding done to the sills and floor pan, just after I bought it. I’ve got various before and after photos, if interested.
'Andy Bracket' fitted (adjusts timing to improve performance and economy).
New fuel lines, front to back, a couple of years ago with nice braided pipe and anodised fixings
Recent supercharger idler pulley replacements and supercharger belt
New rear silencer on passenger side, plus I have the driver’s side in the garage if wanted.
BRC LPG conversion which makes it pretty economical to fuel. I average 21mpg mixed driving and LPG in Morrisons is 58pp/l.
Headlining is good
New cam cover gasket
A couple of new heater hoses and a coolant flush/replacement a few months ago.
Lots of service history prior to my ownership
Two new rear tyres around 1500 miles ago
Not so good points:
Exhaust manifold (rear one, I think) has cracked, though these do come-up on Ebay for £100-£150. I had it brazed/welded for MOT, but the repair didn’t last long.
I think the wheels need balancing as there’s an annoying vibration around 75 mph that goes around 85mph. I did have them balanced, which improved, but didn’t eradicate it.

Not so good points:
Air conditioning has a leak, so the gas leaks out over the course of a couple of weeks
Interior needs a good clean.
MOT only until mid June. I'm not sure if it'll pass or not with cracked manifold (see below)

One front wing has obligatory rust on leading edges – probably best to replace rather than repair.
Rear of rear arches starting to bubble.
Small dent and scratch on rear corner where I caught it on our wall when parking
Variety of scuffs on bumpers
