So after running a fairly conclusive poll I've descided to start a 'resto' thread for my 1961 Lamborghini 2241r... tractor! How did I come to own said vehicle? The answer is like an echo as it's how I seem to acquire most of my projects! "Well... I was on eBay and...." be careful what saved searches you have. Up came this... rusty, tired, in need of TLC but apparently fully working tractor. What was cool is that it was a Lamborghini. Doing some research it grew on me and as the timer ticked down I started to plan if I could actually afford it. I live in a town, on a normal street with normal neighbours. Not much need for a tractor! A common response was.. "what do you want a tractor for?" Anyway talking to my dad about it eventually I got the impression he was on board. I've not told you the best bit yet. The tractor was located, in Italy! We roughed out routes, ferries, hotels and time off work and general costs. Without stopping it was nearly 16hrs solid each way. Obviously towing, fuel stops, sleep etc would easily add many hours. Heres a first glimps of it safely back at my house. My next post will be more about our trip!

Love it, cant wait for some updates on this. I'm in a similar position live on a nice residential estate with absolutely no need for a tractor but still have a hankering for a vintage one.

Ratty old gulf sticker, banded steels, done. I do like a nice old tractor, such nice simple styling. What are your plans?

I was quite taken by its tracked sibling at the recent Bonhams sale at Goodwood Couldn't quite stomach the final price though, that and it would of taken up my entire lawn with one turn... Traaaaaaaaaaaaaaaactor

My mate as a teenager in pubs and clubs used to tell girls he had a lambo as his company vehicle... quite funny when he took them back to his dads farm and they were given a ride around on his rusty tractor

Haha digging up the old threads now... I really do want to write up the stories but they take a lot of time! To be quite frank nothing has been done on this little one. I've used it to pull out some hedges at my house and that's about it. I got the handbrake working so at least I have a way of stopping it now. I do have an update though... The last trip was such good fun we did it all again last August in between lockdowns! I now own 3 Lamborghini tractors and one even has tracks... metal ones that ruin your driveway She's a noisy beast.... Here's a little start and drive video if you're interested while you wait for my updates.... haha
