Hikvision stuff is fantastic for the price. Loads of people at work have them. Even compared to stuff we use at work (top end axis stuff) the hikvision stuff is good. Axis are seriously expensive but have the best picture output & security around - Check the above link on Hikvision. Any camera using a chip from a company called HiSilicon (Huawei) cannot be secured .... That's not very reassuring, posted from my Huawei phone 🤦🏼♂️😂

I've got a sansco system with 2 night devil cameras on the front of the house and the 2 standard IR KARE cameras on the back, all work fine and give great night vision.

I have a Samsung 4 camera system. It was supplied with cameras, cables and hard drive box. Cameras are in garage, back of house, front door and front yard but only seeing in my property. Can watch cameras and playback on the telly and on our smart phones anywhere in the world. Watching the garage during the Kaikoura earthquake a few years back was a worry and the missus can watch me when I am working in the garage Adrian

a couple of years ago we had some problems with some local nobs throwing stuff at windows, we bought a Swann CCTV system with 4 cameras [can run 8] and the problem soon went away once word got round
anyway they have been great, and can watch from phone using an app, it was tricky to set that bit up and I think I did it by accident, not touched it since and its been fine
one thing I have noticed, right away when we first fitted them is that spiders like to web across the infra red beam that the cameras put out at night, two of ours are high up and out of reach of anything so they cant be cleared, really irritating
I wonder if anyone else has had that problem?

Anything that's HD you should be able to read registration plates.
And it's a constant battle with spider webs, But you can still see what's going on behind.

My Swann cameras have been terrible from the start. They always have the wrong date and time. Swann said it needs a new DVR and it doesn’t work on internet anymore. I’m going to change to hikvision. For the spider webs. I hand out the windows with the rod that opens the loft hatch to clear the webs.

My cameras are 1080p, so you can see the reg as long as it's facing the camera. The phone app is super easy as you just download the app, scan the qr code and follow the instructions. Only downside is that the connections are about 1/2 inch across so you need some big holes through the walls. I'm on Android and you can scroll through each camera from anywhere, but will try Iphone too.
overall excellent value for £130

We seem to be getting more and more scallywags thinking it's ok to just help themselves to other people's stuff just lately, so I'm regrettably thinking about getting a cctv set up. Could some of you guys that have them post a few pics from your cameras taken both at night, and in the day please. Also, if you could say the make, model, and where you got it that would be great. I want to see if the quality is good enough that a face or number plate would be recognisable in both the daylight, and the dark.

ive got the floroen system, it has 4 cameras with it and you can go up to 8.
I'm having a problem with it though, one camera is flickering, and its causing the others to go funny too, i turn that camera off, and its ok, i plug it into a different channel and its ok. If i turn all other cameras off in the original position its ok.
Maybe something wrong inside, not enough power getting to the chip or something? anyone any ideas?
thanks

Agreeing on the arlo too. We've had it for almost 18months now and we're happy with it so far. It's wireless so the installation was quick and easy. I especially like the two way communication when we're away. Except for the battery life part maybe, lol. It's quite unpredictable. Sometimes we get to use it for 4months straight, sometimes it can't last beyond 8weeks.
