Very low priority but could we have some kind of I've read this - I'm not ignoring you but *like* button is wrong to use in this case button or smiley? If there's already something obvious and I've missed it please let me know I often use the *like* button to show I've read a post and agree/sympathise/understand what was posted. Occasionally there's a "OMG - disaster - I need to share" type post, or a post with a mix of good & not-good updates. Using *like* in these cases just feels wrong to me. Could we have a "Noted" button, or maybe change the title of "Like" (to "Noted"). It saves creating a new reply just to use a smiley Thanks

i liked it just to be awkward.
I get what your saying, like isnt always the right word for just making the point that you are aware of the post, or that your reaction or feelings towards the content of the post arnt always positive (not the right word but you know what i mean). Noted is a good way of putting it, you don't really want a button that would suggest you are being negative towards it.

Consider it to be a "support" button rather than a like button then - covers all bases that way. That's how I always use it. Not that I "like" that someone has posted that there dog has just been run over. But a "feel for you buddy" have my support.

I suggested something similar once before and the responses implied that I was silly. Glad someone else has raised the issue. Perhaps as well as "like" we could have a "sad" button. Another forum some of us frequent recently introduced "sad", "confused", "laughter", and "thank you" buttons in addition to the standard "like". This works very well.

I, like, just like to type a reply Seems the least one can do when soemone's taken the time and effort to write out a post and one has read and enjoyed/sypmpathised/become emotionally invested in. Because this is, like, a forum, not Facebook?

There are twenty six standard dislike buttons on a normal qwerty keyboard. Learn how to use them in sequence.....

even with my cack-handed two finger typing style , it takes no time to post even the briefest of replies. if everyone only ever liked a post as a reply forums would soon wither and go "poof" in a little cloud of interweb dust!!
