I'm reluctantly selling my Alfa GTV, which I bought back in September to satisfy an itch which I've had for many years. I was planning to keep this car until the summer, but the combination of a tax bill and some home improvements means unfortunately this needs to go.
- 1998 Alfa GTV 3.0 V6 24v
- 6 Speed manual with the Q2 diff
- 139k
- MOT until Oct 2019
This was owned by an Alfa enthusiast before me, who has spent some serious money on the car. It has had the following done:
- Cambelt, tensioner and both roller bearings replaced just before I bought it.
- Water pump replaced at 120k
- Clutch replaced at 120k
- Q2 diff ditted at 120k
- Koni Sport dampers front and rear fitted at 125k
- Middle and rear sports exhaust at 115k (not loud at all, just about right)
- Rare 17" Azev B wheels - Yokohoma tyres with good amount of tread.
- Front brake discs with EBC pads fitted just before I bought it.
- Remap by Autodelta
- Toad CAT1 alarm/immobiliser
For a 21 year old car the bodywork isn't bad at all, as with most cars the pictures do flatter it, but it polishes up very nicely. There are a few stone chips and marks, but no sign of any rust. The interior is in very good condition, and the leather seats are free of rips or tears. Mechanically it's spot on, and it goes very well indeed. It comes with two keys, the master key and a huge folder full of receipts and invoices, all the old MOTs and even the old tax discs.
Bad points:
- A few squeaks and creaks inside when you're on the move (it is a 21 year old Alfa after all)
- Very slight exhaust rattle at 3.5k
- A few marks and stone chips on the bodywork
- Small chip on the windscreen (passenger side)
- The key fob is missing its front - annoyingly this fell off the other day as I was taking my keys out of my pocket and I still haven't been able to find it. The car still opens/closes ok.
I insure the car on a classic policy through Footman James and only pay £210 per year. The plate S500 GTV will stay with the car. Viewing/test drives welcomed - the car is in Cambridge.
Looking for £2950.
