Well, it’s our second Evoque and have to say they stood out from the rest of the boring hatch back crowd, wasn’t the only reason for buying one tho, it’s a really nice drive. Had an ST Focus previously which a fantastic car. I've not driven one but I'd be super worried about injuring an unseen pedestrian / pet dog / child on a tricyle when reversing - the rear screen is little more than a small letterbox. How is that in the real-world? The coupe is worse, rear camera is a must but I drive a van so reversing I only ever use Mirrors!

Had an ST Focus previously which a fantastic car. Have to say, they look great & my missus was in love with them. She’d had a couple of Kuga’s ‘back to back’ & REALLY wanted one. Until we test drove one, drives like dog sh1t compared to the Kuga, I mean not even close & more expensive to boot. She was very disappointed because she had sort of set her heart in it. Tried an F’ Pace, no no no. Ended up having another Kuga, they just are so nice to drive. Only her/my opinion of course If we were all the same life would be boring. I think the Evoque is a great drive, very comfy perhaps even boring? My wife wanted the ST back because you had to drive it (and it was fast ) our friend has a Kuga as a company car, she hates it but she came from an Audi S line! Did your wife drive an auto or a manual? We have the 9 speed auto, I have driven the manual

There's far too many moderns that I actually do like to be able to pick and choose although the GT-R and R8 are on my list of 'will have one day' cars. For the time being though I'm pretty happy with the ones we have.

I think the Evoque is a great drive, very comfy perhaps even boring? Got to agree there to an extent, it really is a lovely place to be but can be like sitting in a big armchair. Pop it into Dynamic mode though and it can be thrown around quite well (and surprisingly spritely for a big lump!)

I really struggle to find new cars beautiful. Sharp, agressive and handsome sure, but in a lot of cases overly fussy, I agree the new alpine and v90 are stunning but besides those and the new Jimny there's little that wets my appetite in the looks department. A lot of them are close but have one line or feature that's a bit too bulbous, the new mx5 for example, the wheel holes are tiny within its massive arches the brz is another slightly awkward one with the same problem. Lexus' lc500 is soo close and is a spectacular car in person. Mercedes coupes are pretty tasty, as is the AMG gtr But the one most surprising to me recently, Infiniti's q60 but only because of the project black, pretty? No... Bucket load of want? Yes.

Mint car, lovely to drive

Big fan of the Giulia, especially in QV form. The 159 before it was also a fantastic looking car and very different from the rest of the saloons of that era (I may be biased as I had a TI for 2 years). Another vote for modern Volvos too, especially the bigger ones.

I'm quite fond of the new(ish) Suzuki Ignis:- I also like the recent Suzuki adverts, using a couple of old skool rave tunes! I do like the new Jimny too

Bought a Mazda C3 for Madam back end of last year. Makes a bit of a change from the jelly molds we see every day. Goes well, comfortable and feels far better screwed together than her old Fortuner. got to admit, the Alfa is something else though.

Must say I like the current Mercedes C-class estate. The curved hip line makes it look like it is about to strike

I really think modern Mercedes' are vile. Like, really, really, really awful. They look like sagging messes of contrived non-matching sculpting lines with a totally oversized "pigsnout" grille walloped on front, sometimes in the right place, sometimes too low, often too high - and just filler the bonnet in until it lines up. Tragic design on them all. Which really shows up when everything Alfa have made lately has been stunning. Not "stunning" in the way the new Supra is, with lots of hard lines and flicks and edgy edges, but actually stunning in just good old fashioned design. Kind of like Dubstep - plenty of people like it, and there some that's better than others, but it's never going to produce a svelte classic like Symphony no.9 or even Robert Miles' Children, is it? Too much clashy and shouty and wizzles and scrapes. The Guilia already posted... Also the XF, 4 or 5 door I'd probably include the current Dodge Challenger too - low spec boring one picked deliberately, racy ones are better! Also, have an 8C: I feel like that just ends all discussion on beautiful moderns...

I feel like that just ends all discussion on beautiful moderns... I would agree, except at some point, you have to put a numberplate on the front and it completely ruins the looks.

i've been racking my brains but still cant think of anything other than the volvo that piques more than a casual glance let alone a full on drool.

I'd run it without. Take the fine, it's worth it to keep the front that pretty. I'm away to stare at it for another 20 minutes. Just so nice.

I really like the new mx5, I’d still like to own a mk1 at some point, but I do like the look of the new one too... just can’t bring myself to spend new car money Also already mentioned, but I love the new jimny, so similar to the sj/samurai
