The Peugeot 504 Coupé, a stylish and uncommon incarnation of the popular 504 which spanned 3 decades in production. Has apparently been reimagined for the third Millennium, displayed as a concept car at the Paris Motor Show last October, (exactly half a century after the 504 was showcased there), fresh ads appear to suggest that the e-Legend might make it into production. Peugeot e-LegendI really like this and think the design makes it an instant classic, not sure what other people think? In a few generations time will today's Petrolheads be tomorrow's Voltheads?

Agreed -this is a great looking car, however i suspect the internal features (such as the fold out wheel) might not make it to a production model...
Still, given the Scirocco concept made it to production with very few changes, there's hope that this might too.

The e-Legend looks like what I thought I'd be driving in the future. So I guess we're in the future if it makes it to market like that. My interest is certainly piqued.

I think the features in the concept car constitute a considerable part of the appeal so I hope the integrity of the original is maintained. Some really zany ideas here like digitally projected wood! It strikes me with the fold-down cockpit arrangement they could do a dual control layout version for people who travel a lot and could then easily alternate between lhd / rhd.

Interesting in how much bigger it is compared to the original, but most modern retro cars are.
And by having a pretty girl model to show the car, Peugeot are being very retro...and very 60's French!

That's not a bad looking car. Any mention of price anywhere yet? I get the impression that this ad is to whet the public appetite / gauge interest. I've asked Peugeot for more information. It ain't going to be cheap! If it looked anything like the prototype with the same design features I reckon it would have to be £100K-ish.

Sometimes i dread what the future of cars will look like, but it is a fear that is clearly unfounded because if they look anything like that, were safe.

Until Peugeot can actually make a car again like their legendary 205 - anything else they say or do is nothing but hearsay.
Makes me so sad that this once manufacturer of cars that really stood out for beauty and reliability now just creates cars for people that just don't actually care about cars. The only decent thing that they still do is small displacement diesel engines which are in everything from fords to fiats.

I really like it, but since Peugeot doesn't have a dealer network here; I won't be able to get one.

I think it's a cracking looking thing, would be quite happy seeing that on the road, although it'd be interesting to see how it fares in pedestrian safety given that it looks to be designed to neatly sever anyone in it's path neatly below the knees... Now this doesn't worry me (I don't habitually walk out in front of cars and if I did I'd accept the inevitable consequences of this action) but it might upset others.
I hope it does happen though (not the knee severing bit obviously, the car).
