with out going into detail of why, if you bought a mini scamp, which is registered and legal, took the screen out of it, fitted a roll cage for a mini, and placed over the top of the scamp a fiberglass mini shell, added mount brackets etc, would that cause legal problems? I don't know if it can be done yet, but is there any legal problem as its still a scamp.
thanks

Interesting idea, depending on version you might need a Clubman front to clear the front of the Scamp, not sure about the width though. In theory you ought to be able to do it as the shell is just a body kit, provided it says Scamp on the logbook. I'm sure some people are still running around in Scamps with Mini logbooks.

I just re-read my comment and realised it sounded like I was suggesting something you should not do so I have deleted that bit. I have a feeling the top corners of the Scamp bulkhead might be too wide. If you need some measurements I have a Mk2 I could wave the tape measure at. I quite like the idea of having a nice rust free Mini body, only trouble is that Scamps do rust and the Mk2's at least tend to bend the rear end of the chassis where the suspension mounts are.

right ok thanks! so it can be done! Mate has a fiberglass shell, had it for years, wants to put it on the road, but dosnt want to do all the sva stuff. It is a clubman, and its a maguires mini shell.
Just an idea so far, just wanted to check it out before he went more with it.
thanks!

Scamps wheel base is closer to a estate, plus I suspect the front box section would get in the way. A gtm roadster might be easier (and be a cool build being mid engined
