[quote timestamp="1547101955" source="/post/2474007/thread" BritPart parts to be very hit or miss.
Yup, i wouldn't use any britpart parts on any even vaguely performance focused RV8 build. Pretty much budget orientated stock rebuild parts only. They can be fine (sometimes), but i've seen lifters with a perfectly machined square slot in the base thanks to a lifter evidently managing to get past the induction hardening stage without anyone at whatever factory it was noticing!
There are definantly different grades of gasket, I had one that delaminated, I eventually made a 3mm alloy valley plate, cut carefully around the edges of the heads so I could run a fine bead of mastic to maintain the oil seal, then seal the manifold to the heads using 2 pieces of cut down gasket, perhaps my advantage was a 2 piece split ITB manifold which may have aided my cause
Atmo V8 Power . No slicks , No gas + No bits missing . Doing it in style. Austin A35van, very different------- but still doing it in style, going to be a funmoble
Hello. Yes there are good and bad, BP parts. A genuine valley gasket retails at £28.51 plus vat, a cheap BP one at about a fiver, but they do an OEM quality one, which is what I'd fit, which is still under a tenner.
Land Rover parts are generally hit or miss regardless of where they come from, but I will say that we have problems with or return well under 1% of the huge quantity of Britpart parts we deal with here.
