I've been lurking a while reading all the excellent and interesting builds on these forums. I know its on a 52 plate but I think the old V40 90's design looks retro. I'm needing inspiration for wheels / lowering springs or coilovers? Being 4x114.3 this opens the options to a few J wheels? I've attached some pics of how the car is now. Save me from going (more) modern....the Volvo's slow, thirsty....but it owes me nothing, easy to work on, I like it, and I don't see many (apart from a good mate I work with who has an 'S' reg). Thanks to this forum I'm now actively on the lookout for something a bit older to accompany the volvo also ...
They vaguely platform share with a Mitsubishi carisma, as I fitted Volvo coilovers to one for someone. Top mounts are different though and they don’t go very low. How that’s relates to the lancer/evo line I don't know. They’re not at all retro though.

I've been on the lookout for a T4...but even the lpt version is hard to come by in any condition! It does share alot of parts with the evo, but I cant see a point in upgrading brakes, adding strut braces etc with the pace it offers. I had been seriously considering a t4 lump transplant as my model has got the compatible gearbox... It would make a good base for one, I've done a fair few jobs to it over the 12 months I've owned it. Anyone got any rough costs of doing such an engine transplant from past experience?
