I picked up a burnt out Mev Rocket ( engine mounted out at the back ), no history or doc's, I thought the engine was a Zetec but its not, looking at the rear of the car, the twin cam belt is at the right, the exhausts are rear most, the engine is on carbs maybe R1's?, they are on the side between the engine and the seats. Ive googled it, I thought maybe a Duratec but Ive not found any pics that look the same....It looks like a Zetec with a Duratec head? I'm confused...Any ideas? thanks

Only Ford engine I can think of that is that way round with a cambelt is a Puma engine. Duratec is that way round but has a timing chain.

Do you have more shots?
I'm going with a Sigma/Zetec-SE engine as well from a Puma/Fiesta/Focus.

I'm not 100% sure if the mounts are the same, but you car is based on a focus so anything that comes in one of those should be adaptable.

If your engine matches the pics, that is a Sigma or Zetec SE engine. Labelled by Ford as Duratec on the airbox mounted on top just to confuse

mevs typically used 2.0 zetec engines from mondeos and the like, I helped a friend of a friend fit an ST170 engine and box into one, it was actually labeled Duratec on the cam covers.

They're very light. The Zetec/ST170 is iron block and very heavy in comparison.

indeed, the sigma can make very decent power and bloody good noises, they are nice and light and the design of the block lends to good stiffness and lower vibrations.
the steel 2.0 is a heavy old curse word, though ultimately being larger capacity some simple mild cams itb's and a decent manifold will get you near 200 bhp.
or fit a stock Honda K20..

What they said above. They are very light and it doesn't take alot to get good relative power out of them.

What they said above. They are very light and it doesn't take alot to get good relative power out of them. I've 150 bhp in my 1.4 one. Mild porting, rally cams, and gsxr throttle bodies. Very underrated engine. All alloy, a Yamaha design with front facing induction. Main reason I think more aren't used in other stuff is that the Bell housing pattern is different to the RWD ford pattern. Mate of mine rallied his 1.4 with 190 bhp in it.

Whether you believe you can, or you cannot, you're probably right.
