My wife doesn't care what she drives as long as it goes, handles and stops like it should and is easy to park. She loves her BG Laser, it just keeps going like the energiser bunny. She was afraid of my XC Falcon with its heavy clutch, column change and lack of power steering. She dailied an automatic EA Falcon for some years but somehow the same thing with a manual box frightens her almost as much as the XC did. I think she's driven my current daily about twice in five years. All of the red cars.

I can't get her out of this thing. I offered to buy her a brand new car but she doesn't want to hear about it.

The one that has seat heating and no automatic air condition because she knows better then the computer. And if the ears (her words not mine) fold when you close it is a big plus.

Mine doesn't drive, and barely knows a Fiat from a Ford. So imagine my surprise when I came home from work and she told me about a red Escort RS1600i that she'd seen down the road and how nice it looked!

My wife flipflops between liking and hating my retros, a few of the ones she would be seen in are...
Mk1 & Mk2 MX-5s My little flatbed Honda Acty van (add that to the stable of cars I wish I'd never sold) Ford Puma was reasonably practical Bay Window camper VW Beetle
She generally detested every water cooled VAG car I owned, and is no fan of my luxobarge fetish.
She's always insured on my cats tho - with no endorsements or accidents in nearly 20 years she definitely makes my premium cheaper!

Sounds like mine, she probably only realised what it was as it’s written on the side, well the RS1600i bit is.

when I slam it to the ground, she hates it; when I don't she loves it. The capri she once admitted was 'pretty' once when she came home really drunk and I've never let her forget! Her ideal car is a E30 touring though I did love this 4.4 supercharged beast on eBay a while ago..

My other half likes 100e's, so do i. If she had a drivers license id probably buy one As it is, she just wants me to finish the little 125 cafe racer so she can kill herself on that instead!

Sometimes i wonder if it did the correct security questioning on my wife when she was my girlfriend She has learnt and picked up an awful lot about cars and driving since we've been together to be fair to her. She could probably recognise most retro/classics and have a semi educated guess at what it is. And she'll know to point them out to me so thats a bonus (most of the time, oooo what was that as i fly past something isn't always helpful lol) She definitely knows what an Ax is and she can't stand mine as her short legs mean she has to kind of throw her self over the rollcage door bar and fall into the bucket seat She preferred my Octavia vRS to our newer Mondeo 2.5t (as a passenger), as a driver she's driven the Mondeo a handful of times but is intimidated by the sheer size of it. She doesn't enjoy driving sadly but prefers her SportKa to her Rover 100 Kensington as it has power steering, although she does confess to missing the Rover sometimes. I'm constantly trying to run car ideas past her for the Sportka's replacement but 5 doors and newer are her only stipulations yet she didn't like the Panda 100 i suggested sadly nor the Seat Leon Cupra R.

My wife will only drive an auto, she likes modern cars, our Yetis ,and now Karoq, she likes. She drove my Escort once, and now refuses to drive it as it "Scares her' although she admits she loves it as a thing to be driven in? . She didn't like the P6B V8, sort of liked the Manta, but would love the new model Fiat 500 and has stated she would have a Chrysler PT Cruiser Cabrio (that's not happening i've seen the club stand at shows!) She is still unsure about my Golf Mk1 Cabrio. At a show I asked her which car she would like me to buy next, she chose an Alvis TD21 convertible, my pockets aren't that deep!!! In fact I was trying to steer her towards a Vauxhall Cresta PB. As an old farmer once said to me, "Women, funny cattle."

my wife buys and chooses her own cars and they tend to be quite modern for the reliability of having to be an everyday car, she has had a few nice ones, 2.2 TT, and a very nice 2.2 Z3, but she still has a hankering for a Crossfire which i must admit i wish she would, they are now around the 15 year mark, so must be getting close to being accepted around here. 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE COUPE by shagracer, on Flickr 2005 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE by shagracer, on Flickr must be hardtop coupe and not the convertible, other wise you lose that great hatchback shape
