As most of my projects are this one is another budget one. Using spares I have and calling on mates and trades to get it done. I have various scooter projects in various states of disrepair and want something that will turn heads next spring. So to start with I have this frame The front legshields were half an inch full of filler so attacked that with a wire wheel on a grinder Before we go any further here’s a pic of a bog standard Vespa PX for comparison An here’s the inspiration for the build

The frame still needs a little tweaking. I’ve cut a little more off the back end and nearened up the legshields a little. The rear light is going to be tunnelled type so will weld some tube in then box in the open area a little with a number plate light. I was going to use the one below but I thought I was over complicating things. So while I’m working on the frame I took a set of handlebars and Lambretta forks over to my brother in law for modyfying. The stock on Lambretta forks needs changing to get them sitting nice in a Vespa and the handlebars have had a drop on them. Here they getting mocked up on another frame I have

How about a led sled Vespa? The gold frame above had always been destined for a heavily Kustom theme 😉 The scooter scene has in the last few years caught up and are doing custom/leadsled styles but generally miss the mark. Here’s a Kustom chopper from the states

It will look fantastic once you get the lights and mirrors on it😁 I shal refrain from shouting profanities at you 😜 So far the project has cost me £15 for a new fork bearing and race set. The work my brother in law is doing for me was traded off for a sign I painted for him and some beers. A mate is going to rebuild me the motor. I previously painted him a scooter for super mates rates. Another mate is getting me the new bearings, gaskets and oil seals for the motor again trading off paintwork. So some more parts dug out of my stock pile. Two different horncasts will be painted for it do I can change the style. Both have been smoothed of recess’s and ridges. I took my motor out of another scooter I have. It’s been stored for some time now so the piston has seized in the barrel hopefully some diesal will help this along. It’s a p200 motor that was rebuilt before it was stored but not taking any risks and will be rebuilt.

Exhaust for the project is this original 80’s Mickeck. The bees knees of the time and still highly regarded. And finally for now a quick tester panel for the paint

I doubt it mate, never ventured that far north and this thing won’t be a mile muncher. Rearsets and tiny seat will see it just used for short trips 😂

Scoot named- Zereod Out
Definition of zero out. US. 1 : to reduce the amount of (something) to zero Be sure to zero out the account before you switch banks. 2 : to remove (something) completely This program will be zeroed out in the budget for next year.

On hold slightly for the moment as my boss has put a stop to “personal” projects being worked on at lunch time 🙄 But need to get it back home anyways to mock it up before paint so something to do over Xmas. I have sourced the rear light for it now which will be tunneld into the rear end.

Another mod I’ve done is this flywheel cowling. I’ve cut off the usual slats that they have and I’m going to attach this headlight stoneguard. Not sure if I will weld it or come up with some fastening for it. I may also send it off for copper plating.
