So my oh so delightfully French C15 / Visa van needs to go.
It only has a week or so MOT left and what with my Mini, CR-X, Chaser, EP3 and pet Giraffe I just don't have time to get it sorted.
It will fail the next MOT, but not terribly, so lets get the known bad bits out of the way: It needs new sill both sides ideally. They could be patched but as full pattern sills are around £15 a side there isn't any point doing it half arsed at that price. The brakes are cack which I think to be master cylinder or servo as it needs a lot of leg effort. Its never bothered me, treat it like it doesn't have a servo and your expectations are managed. Its squeaks and rattles and groans in a way only the French can
On the plus side, it has the unburstable 1.9 XUD and the little thing has only done 65k miles from new. Its also had a recent new clutch and starter motor. It starts first time, every time, without fail, it uses next to no fuel, its just really useful.
It also has 4 good tyres, a decent head unit with aux in and uprated speakers, a funky roofrack, a bit of shelving and carpet in the back, and that's about it.
Simple van, simple motoring.
I really want someone to spend a weekend sorting it and stick it through another mot because it really deserves it. Unfortunately I also know that if I sold the roof rack, stereo, cat and battery and fragged the rest I'd get my asking price. I really really don't want that to happen.
Someone please save it, its so much fun for what it is. I'd trust it to get anywhere in the country, I regularly use it for my 80 mile round trip to work.
Anything you want to know, give me a shout.
PS... 2004 and so one of the last made but also a bit naughty to be on here. Lets face it though, it has retro in spades and they started making them in the early 80s... please nobody get mad
Andy
