Thought I'd post a few details of my (sort-of) retro Swede I have for sale, EBay link at the bottome of the page. Hope that's ok.
Some blurb pulled from the add:
Unfortunately, the time has come to sell my much loved 850R estate.
I'm sure you know about the 850R's if you're looking at this add, but here's some brief info on the model. It was a limited run, available in saloon and estate form. Built by Volvo, following their success racing the 850 with TWR in the British Touring Car Championship and their previous special edition, the T5-R. It has an inline 5 cylinder, 2.3ltr engine producing about 245hp. According to 'howmanyleft' there is less than 70 of these registered currently in the UK. Keeping in mind it's rarity, the value of these should only increase.
My 850 has covered 135k miles, has had 7 previous owners and I have owned it for just over 3 years. The MOT expires March 2019 and can be put classic car insurance, I pay around £200 fully comp with guaranteed value.
The car is in sound mechanical condition, having had a lot of work carried out within the last 10kmiles including:
Recent brakes all round, including the upgrade V70 302mm front discs, new rear discs, pads and calipers.
I have fitted new Goodridge braided hoses front and rear, as well as, replacing some of the original crusty brake pipe.
The PCV system was replaced within the last 15k miles and there's many more receipts for other mechanical repairs from previous owners and regular servicing including oil services and cambelt which was done at 122k miles.
I've had all 5 wheels (including spare) refurbed to a very high standard by 'Pristine Alloy Wheels' (sand blasted, repaired, painted and heat treated) in the original anthracite finish. And then fitted with 215/45 Yokohama Advan Sport V105's (again including spare).
The minor mods i've done in my ownership are a stainless Ferrita cat-back system, decat and K&N panel filter to increase the 5-cylinder warble, but other than that the engine is totally standard and runs very sweetly. No remaps or big injectors or larger turbo fitted.
I have also flushed through the auto gearbox oil in the last few weeks, so the gear changes are lovely and smooth.
The paint is mostly original and is in very good condition for its age. There's the usual car park dents and stone chips, and the paint is a little thin in areas from an excess of polishing. Having said that, the paint is lovely and bright and looks great (as you can see in the pictures).
There is absolutely no rust, and there has been no welding repairs carried out.
The car comes with all the usual R refinements such as heated seats, electric front and rear windows, original stereo with CD multichanger in the boot. Trip, mpg readout etc.
Please bear in mind though, the car is over 20 years old, so does have a couple of minor faults. The air conditioning doesn't work, i haven't been too fussed about getting it sorted. The remote central locking works as it should but sets the alarm off once a door is opened (I've been told a relay is the fault). I have been using the key manually. There is the usual trim creaks and rattles.
Overall, my 850R is a really-good example of what is becoming a very desirable, performance modern-classic. It could be used daily as is or tidied up a little and used for shows.
I have the V5, registered in my name and two keys and fobs and there is no finance or loans on the vehicle.
Feel free to get in touch regarding any questions, car is located in Crewe, Cheshire CW2.
