I bought this car last year as a stopgap between lease cars. It turned out it was a such a good car I wanted to improve and keep it for ever. I was intending on going to a few novice track sessions with it but time got away from me.
First the bad stuff... It's been in my garage for a couple of months and have been using it last week while between cars when I noticed a noise when I pushed the clutch in. I guess its the clutch release bearing - on the MK2 Clio you may be aware the clutch is quite a job. With a 2nd child nearly with me I really can't see me getting round to doing it for the next year or 2 so I think it's a good time to let someone else have a go. It also has a little crack on each of the front plastic wings at the top. It doesn't matter to me, but it might do to you so thought I'd mention it. See the last 2 pics.
Now the good stuff.. In it's 16 years before me it had 2 owners, a older lady then then her daughter. 99k miles. They took it to the local Renault garage every service to be well and truly ripped off by them. Loads of stamps in the book. Loads of new parts I can see like engine mounts etc. They replaced every part without consideration of cost for many years. Everything works, A/C, electric sunroof, stereo etc. It has 4 fantastic dealer fit Michelin tyres at £60 each on it. In my tenure I've spent quite a few quid on it myself. New battery, new 'period' number plates, replacement seals on the inlet manifold to cure an erratic idle, new NGK plugs, specific Elf Oil and Renault filter, new factory mats, 172 rear struts, Brembo front discs and pads, ATE Typ200 brake fluid. I've even got a K&N 57I Gen2 I haven't fitted yet.
£300 priced to sell due to the impending clutch replacement.
