it's actually something I know quite a bit about. Funny because you used SJW when talking about environmental concerns... which makes you sound like the sort of person that mistakes health and safety legislation for political correctness. This re-balancing of activity on the front has been coming for the last few years, anyone can see that, Brighton has got busier and they've gradually been adding more motoring events to the calendar on Maderia Drive. Something is going to have to give, and I'm guessing (despite your distaste for a progressive council) the town isn't getting any quieter as it has become a hugely popular. It is basically unsustainable, particularly given the crumbling nature of the terraces.

News for Brighton Speed Trials 2020, via member's email newsletter (copied and pasted here) You will only need an Interclub licence to compete in the 2020 Brighton Speed Trials. Due to the massive increase for the RS National (old National A) licence it has been decided that The Frosts Brighton National Speed Trials will run under an Interclub permit this year.
The event will be open to members of the Brighton & Hove Motor Club and the invited clubs listed in the Supplementary Regulations.
There will be no B&HMC Handicap this year and everyone will run in one of the 13 classes. This means that all competitors will get one practice run and two timed runs.
Entries this year will be limited to 150 cars due to the additional runs that we have to fit in the allotted time.
The Entry Form and Supplementary Regulations will be available on the club website by the end of January.
We will have our 21SqM LCD screen again this year and the raised viewing platform will have three tiers this year to allow room for more spectators.
Spectator tickets will be available on our website at a 20% discount from the gate price on the day.
B&HMC Goodwood Sprints
The Bailey Sprint at Goodwood will take place on Saturday 9th May
The Eagle Sprint at Goodwood will take place on Saturday 1st August
Entry for both of these events are now live on the club website. These events are limited to 115 cars and fill up very fast so get your entry in soon. === ... and then at the end there's a big button you can press which looks like this... ...which I obviously can't include here, but I can provide the link. Which takes you to, ermmmm..... www.mailerlite.com... which is a company offering promotional emailing services and the like. They ought to have checked the link before sending out the emails. Oh well.
