Ok so this story actually starts before my son moved to the USA , got married and had kids, I tried like many dads do to get him interested in my fave car, although he showed a little interest it was soon clear it wasn't going to happen , so the first car got sold, then I tried again with him , but that car got sold on as well and infact its runs around now with a Saxo VTR engine in it that the current owner installed for the guy I sold it to.
So step forward a few years , and my son says Dad can you get me an Imp , I want an English car in the US , after telling him its Scottish it was agreed I'd look for a suitable car . After several blind alleys a car was found in Essex , deposit paid car unseen and the trailer hitched up and the car dragged home . It was MOT and generally ran ok but in need of serious TLC.
So I then got offered another car, which I also bought , that one will be my daughters car. So the car although it had an MOT it had MOT cheap car welding which at least meant it had survived.
Turns out the car was originally registered in the Channel Isles , we mangaged to trace its original plate and with redacted info we have a small piece of its history .
So almost a years work in the garage produced
which ended up here
Baltimore via a RORO out of Southampton
So now I get to flyover and go and see the reaction to this little piece of UK Mopar , see my grandkids and also go take in Nascar and the Detroit Dreamcruise and also a bit of local drag racing.
