Offered for sale is this Peugeot 205, this is the TU series engine which is 1.1L. I saved this car from being scrapped last month, it had been sat since 2016 and needed a replacement rear axle, I had a good used one fitted, I have found that this car needs attention to it's gearbox, it seems to like slipping out of 2nd and also 4th gear, I'd suggest this is internal rather than a selector fault (I could be wrong though) it can be persuaded into 2nd with a couple of attempts, 4th isn't as lucky though. I've driven the car briefly and it has a decent engine, it idles nicely, doesn't smoke and there is no odd sounds.
The bodywork is very good, no rust under the rear seats, boot floor or above the windscreen seal, all the panels are rot free too, the inner wings under the bonnet are in reasonable shape too.
Inside the car is good, the seats are still nice and comfortable, the dash is in pretty good shape and it's mostly all there from what I can see. There's electric windows and central locking on this model as a nice bonus.
I'd say that this car was once cherished, it's done very little mileage (46,000) since 1995 but perhaps fell into neglect in it's later years, I only stepped in to save it from the crusher - being 5 door, I don't fancy keeping it so I think this car suits someone looking to have a decent entry into the 205 ownership or what I'd do considering the gearbox needs looking at anyway, slap a Saxo VTS engine in there since it'll pretty much go straight in and you've got a street sleeper.
