I have to be honest, I was a little bit sad to see the old fella go. He brought a bit of decorum to the workshop. He kept our rowdy young pick-ups in their place.
Also, in a bizarre way that only I could understand, that was the first vehicle I ever actually did some actual real manly man's work on. I only helped strip/clean and prepare the chassis, attached a few panels and made the side window templates and little bits like that, but to me it felt like enough of a contribution to tell everyone I knew I had "personally built a Dodge truck from scratch" in a tone of voice that suggested it was no big deal and I do it all the time.
Hopefully he's off to have a new adventure though, and now it's a race against time to see which of us can buy something to fill the empty space in the workshop.
