South African vw Golf 1.3 Citi Chico 5 door in white 5 door, 5 speed, Full UK MOT with no advisories until 28th July 2021
Its been MOT'ed in 2013, 2017, 2018 & 2019.
Very solid and rust free shell
26,570 miles or 42790 km
It was a project car for me but life gets in the way of things
Still on Eastern Cape plates so will need to be registered in UK
NOVA / UK Duty paid for all ready to be registered for the 1st Uk owner
1.3 GY engine. This is a big block engine ( Same engine mounts as 1.8 / 1.6) with 5 speed box and 9" brake servo so its ripe for 16v or bigger conversion. No sunroof.
Don't rally or track your mint mk1 gti, convert this into something quick or keep as is for original timewarp classic
Currently on 15" Le castellet alloys with coilover suspension, 34ich weber carb conversion(jetted to suit) as factory SA carb was rough. Could possible eak a little more grunt with bike carbs or something similar.

Very nice. But just to add the wheels are not Estoril alloys but much rarer and more desirable Le Castellet alloys as found on the golf mk1 Rivage cabriolets.

It could come with Estoril if needed as i also have a set of those along with the original 13" steelies

I like this but it will need a cat to pass the mot if it's a 96. Did it come with a carb originally?

Golf has full uK MOT and has and this was done in July 2018, its fail in July 2017 due to split rear exhaust box(had the car trailered to custom exhaust garage, where they made standard exhaust back box and it pass its MOT) The car also has a MOT from it earlier life.
Carb was Keihin carb which is OEM factory fitment in South Africa. I still have it and the original airbox will come with the car.
The replacement was a 34PICT Carb from a 1.1 Vw Golf. I replaced all the jetts and gaskets / floats etc with genuine weber parts and had it rejetted to 1.3 specification.
I was looking for Lynx M150 Manifold / 40DCOE second hand but have not found one yet. They still sell them in Australia
Tyres are 165 55 15

Also comes with Lupo 3L Steering wheel, not sure if its the magnesium one but it looks well cool

Nice, I had an identical one to this when I lived in SA for a few years. How come it's never been registered in the UK if it passed it's MOT two years ago? Or has it been driven around on SA plates? Sorry I'm a bit clueless about registration etc. snap!:  |

With all this covid, its given me time to get this register as UK car. That has now been done and once the V5C comes through i will be readvertising this car as a road legal car.
Fresh mot was done in July 2020 so will come with 7 months MOT - Going to be "R" Reg vehicle as born in 1998
