can anyone recommend a dent repair kit? I've got quite a few dings on the 9000 and fancy trying my hand at repairing them rather than just getting replacement panels. There seems to be loads of kits on eBay and Amazon - don't know where to start, so any suggestions or recommendations gratefully received!

I take it that you are talking about 'paintless dent repair' It's a very dark art - takes a deft hand, a very keen eye, more patience than you can muster and a sprinkling of magic - I have been restoring classics / repainting moderns for 40 years hence retain much skills & experience and even I don't get involved with this - I call in my paintless dent repair chap - takes him next to no time and is very fair with his pricing - you would be far better off doing the same rather than wasting money on a dent repair kit

Agreed.
Very few people will make a success of it.
We’ve got all the PDR equipment here, but it very rarely gets used. The local PDR Guy is on our estate at least once a week, so it’s far quicker and more cost effective to get him to drop by and do it.

My lad bought a kit from Aldi How I laughed to myself He pulled a dent out of the rear arch on the wife’s daily very well, obviously it’s not fantastic but credit to him for having a go with just a small skim of filler it’ll be good But for the best results I’d go with the advice given already Get the experts in!

I work for dent repairs Leeds, as a painter, I have dent tools bit believe me, it's not easy, we have a dedicated team for PDR, I use mine mainly to push for paint, where pdr isnt possible, but to push so less filler is needed.
Pdr takes a long time to master, it really is an art and you have to do it day in day out to keep good at it.

I am looking to get into PDR, how should i go about getting my training, you mentioned some schools ??any help would be appreciated. On another automobile forum I was recommended to get Thes PRD tools glexotools.com/ . But I was also told that PDR is an art that takes thousands of hours of practice. There are a several companies that undertake PDR training courses just Google 'PDR Training Courses' - personally I would not invest in any equipment / tools until you have attended a few courses and are confident that its something you can master - there are a lot of so called PDR specialists out there - some are next to useless - some hold limited skills whilst others are very good & effective at what they do - it takes a certain person to master the craft and its not something that you are going to master overnight - good luck regardless

Fairly sure that that post is advertising spam for the company mentioned Rich - Would not surprise me - I didn't open the link I don’t blame you. Even if you were interested in PDR I don’t blame you for not clicking.

id never seen pdr in action before... fair to say that my gob was well smacked!! this guy really seems to know his onions. Dude i work with had a dent that needed sorting last year. Was quote up to £600 to fix the mess. I suggested pdr and sent him that dudes vid links; he messaged him but guy didnt fancy trecking up here and no wonder I found local guys to us and dent sorted for £80. Completely gone. Amazing work; was on the crease into curve part, arch corner of rear door on a kadjar Dude said it might not be 100%, but he fancied the challenge! Not 100% no charge. Well worth showing one of these type folks if damage but paint not broken etc...before going straight to paint 👍
