Hi all, right I'm doing a little drive in the shed this Thursday (North west UK to erm, Lemans) and I want to just get the car all in one colour, yellow, easiest will be roller I don't even care how good or bad it looks just all in one colour at the moment so to stop too many disconcerting looks coming my way with its current multi colour appearance! Ive used rustoleum before I want something Like that which I can do tomorrow night, but Ive checked and no easy rustoleum near me. Can anyone advise a paint that I can mildly thin down and roll on to get quick coverage.... using a brush around the seals lol, from the likes of B&Q, srewfix etc the for-mentioned shed After paint I might even check over the mechanicals before I leave haha Cheers chris

If it were me I'd drive it as it. From personal experience you can have something looking worse than that. I once owned an Escort XR3i which had an Emulsion paint finish, I kid you not!

we painted our e36 drift car camo green because it needed to be stashed in a neighbours mega overgrown garden - like into the undergrowth! and the car looked so terrible it was the only thing I could think of!
took two of us half an hour to do the whole thing, and we used a tin of hairspray to clean the worse of the grease off the bootlid where iirc a broken halfshaft had been plonked!
kfw
ps - I'd roll that as-is

Almost on the road: b11 sunny breadvan, e36 tds, 325i skidcar,
nearly there: ford f250 tathauler, suzuki alto, u11 bluey
not for a while: ford pop, 32 rails,
not in this lifetime: ruby, '29 hillman
''unfortanatly I'm quite old and scruffy and in need of some loving. my drive shaft needs a new boot....''

I've had good results with Rustoleum aerosol cans. If not spraying I'd be inclined to use a good quality brush rather than a roller as I find it easier to get a decent finish that way due to having more control.

How about cheap 2k from your local paint suppliers?

Another vote for running it "as is" from me!
Not long ago I painted my MX5 with mismatched panels using a roller and some matt green "NATO" paint that was from a local paint place. It went on well but the finish was poor even by my pretty low expectations and I don't think the car looked any better for it. It still looked crappy, just crappy in a different colour. Totally not worth the effort in my opinion, I think your car looks really cool as it is, and if it is to get some paint it's worth giving it something half decent when you have the time.

Yup, as is. It's Le Mans, anything and everything will be there, smart or not. And it'll still look better than some of the racers at the end!

This is a curse word idea but I thought it so I will tell it...Wash it off get some coloured 2" inch tape and stripe it across at an angle bottom to top across the roof and down the other side like the weird BMW artist painted things, I just googled the BASF BMW M1, It will come off again easier when you do get time to paint properly and will make the two tone at the minute look part of the idea....I did say not the best idea but cheap easy and removable.

I've been using masonary paint this week on some exterior pebble-dash house walls It's very thick so covers well, goes on quick, dries in a couple of hours. Apply with a brush or roller. £20 buys a 5 litre tin from Wilkinsons etc and should be plenty for 2 cars or 1 van. You can wash spills with water, but once dry it's waterproof. No idea how it sticks to car paint or if you can paint over it, but I'm planning to experiment if I have any paint left at then end of the job

Most paint suppliers will mix you coach ebamel to any colour, usually covers well and gives a reasonable finish with a roller. If you have any landrover or agricultural stores nearby they often do a wide range of colours off the shelf.

Just remember, whatever you put on, you will have to strip off before you paint it properly.
I'd be tempted to either primer the lot in grey or yellow filler primer, or graffiti paint it. About 200 colours to pick from and can be removed with acetone apparently.

Id rub the whole car down, and primer it - any primer colour, but primer.
