Now we are getting somewhere, all this brainstorming and we’ve cracked it!!
This time next year all the hipster cats will be sporting them on their cars, with your drawing and presentation skills and my..............erm, well, with Toms........ enthusiasm we’ll be millionaires!
I couldn't make the weekend work sadly. It all hinged on my parents being well enough to cope with me dropping in and staying for the evening. My dad was too ill for an impromptu guest though, so it all fell apart at that point.
I had the Carlton “valet” parked in the morning by dan as trying to find tge stand was eating into time need for Hill Climb participants “meet and greet”
Of course this meant I had to find it a lunchtime and get it back to the paddock ready for the oportunity of a cheeky run up the hill (or three)
Not knowing where it was parked in a show field full of cars was fun
So all in all 2 objectives for the weekend met - first time since Gaydon in 2008 (RRG08) that a car I own has been on a club stand
And first time since 2015 that I’ve squeezed in a few runs up the hill
My only concern was it was on cold tyres
I wondered who owned this when I seen it in the paddock, extremely envious! Such an awesome car! I didn’t take photos with the camera, but I took a handful on my phone of cars that stood out... not the greatest photos but I’ll post them anyway
====THE EMPORER OF BNMAC ADDRESSES HIS MINIONS====
====PLEASE STAND AND BE SEATED====
Today, as I went about my empirical duties, I found a moment to set up a 16 car reservation for BNMAC at the RetroRides Weekender at Goodwood.
So please do let me know when you are ready to reserve your space on the show stand of this most prestigious of clubs.
We will not except riff-raff, chancers, fly-by-nights or banger racers.
Obviously that's not true at all, we'll accept just about anyone. Even people without a car.
Please contact me directly by PM to declare your expression of interest in a place on the stand, and I will happily talk you through the various purchase prices we have on offer, from the humble £10k entry level for the poor people with their ridiculous old budget cars to the £250,000.00 Sultan Supreme elevated platform package, featuring our bespoke VIP infinity pool and Vegas Lounge.
PLEASE NOTE: DIRECT PMs ONLY. FOR NEXT YEAR I'D REALLY LIKE TO KEEP THE CARS ENTERED TOP SECRET UNTIL THE DAY ARRIVES. TO ADD TO THE SUSPENSE, THE ANTICIPATION, AND THE WHAT-HAVE-YOU.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
LETS CREATE AN AIR OF MYSTERY.
I'LL PROBABLY GIVE UP ON THIS IDEA AFTER A FEW WEEKS BUT FOR NOW IT'S VERY VERY IMPORTANT.
A mere seven minutes after the announcement and I'm already having to renegotiate the insurance cover up by a few million on the BNMAC stand, just to make sure the calibre of cars already booked in is adequately covered.
