Ahh really, where are you based? i'm based west of Shetland.... I always find it hard to find the time to do a build thread, but i really want to try keep to one this time haha!

Oh mate I was genuinely wincing when you were going through your rust finding mission. Corrado vr6t will be an awesome project. Respect for sticking with the mk2 shell though. Many woundnt. You need to put a video out there of how your vr6t sounds!

Sorry I didn’t see this, I did consider selling the mk2 as a project, but I know I’d miss it and end up buying another one, so I’ll just need to get the finger out with it! Haha I’ll have a look, I should have a couple of videos, the screamer pipe makes it, really Well keyring I'm blaming you for my latest haha. A 91 black valver corrado. Haha, awesome! Photos? What’s the plans?

So, I’ve not touched the mk2 or the Corrado, however I did see a cheap vr6 converted mk3 gti go up for sale fairly local, the shell was rotten, but I thought it could be a nice cheap OBD2 vr6 set up (turbo set up is currently OBD1) So last Wednesday I got this dropped off at my pals unit I went up on Thursday, and with the previous owner starting to get the engine ready to come out, an hour later seen the car go from this... To this I got the loom out, removed the brakes, fuse box, the fuel tank and fuel pump loom to keep for future projects The stainless steel exhaust that came with the car I managed to sell for £120 which helped claw some money back from the original price, I kept the wheels, lights and mirrors in the hope I can sell them on to get a bit more money back. We tidied up any scrap my pal had lying around, stuck it into the shell, and it’s now away to be scrapped

Of course, then I had to get all of these parts back to mine... Of course, the kangoo would do, but perhaps lowering it wasn't fully thought through... It all fits... But it did mean some mega lows for the rear of the van... Luckily it's not far to the house, and even with all the weight, it wasn't sitting on the bump stops, so success I'd say!

Ohh hopefully it’s a decent engine and you get it soon then! Is that a sunflower ph1 in the background big stuff? It’s not actually, it’s a liquid yellow (used to be blue) 182 track car, deans old one, it’s just the shell, my friend is going to stick a 20VT in to it oooooo renault friends, would love a sunflower ph1! van is cool as. I had bought a turbo set up for the van, but the parts weren’t correct so I ended up sending it back and getting a refund! I’m sure I’ve seen that Clio, it’s nuts!

Just looking for what it cost me, £105

How is the corrado coming along? I have finally managed to put mine back together. The spare engine was toast so had to be rebuilt. Just need to start her up and bed the engine in now!

Sorry for the delayed response, been a quiet few months for me, not really been on many forums, or made much progress, the mk2 and corrado are both still in the same state, only real progress I’ve made is, I’ve got the battery tray for the rado, I’ve sold my kangoo van, and the sj and bought a Nissan patrol, which I’m going to put a thread up on shortly Hoping to get stuck into the rado next time home

Not much of an update really, but hopefully it’ll lead to more... VwHeritage have a 10% off code this weekend for the VolksWorld show, so I took advantage of it, and ordered a small list of parts to get cracking with the mk2 over the summer... I hope!! I considered selling it to a friend a few times, but I just can’t bring myself to do it, the way mk2 prices are going, I doubt I’d have another if I sold it, so that was a big swaying factor... So got these ordered up, and I’ll see when the work starts...

Yo man, just had a read through this.
Any updates on the welding yet?
The rot isn't that bad, and as I have said before on here, the majority of mk2's will now be hiding some rot somewhere!
Must go live stink that! Got a VR6 mk3 that pulls like a train, let alone with a turbo on it and in a mk2!
