Some good camera angles there, and there really is a lot of strip after the strip!
Happy with the times?
I guess everyone would rather their times were quicker, but i was very happy with how the car performed. I drove there, 3 runs down the strip and then home without a hiccup and on 1/2 a tank of fuel. I was given a time to beat of 18 seconds and I was 1/2 a second quicker than that. Making the official video has me rather chuffed too, even if it is of me getting pasted!
Another big thanks to Edessex for organising the stand.
You never know what to expect though, you always get pub talk of someone's friend's brother's uncle's dog running a 1/4 mile in a completely stock car getting heavily tuned times. You never know until you try yourself.
I've pretty much retired myself from Drag Racing these days (Although we do still have a V8 Drag Capri in the garage) but you are right Ed - pub talk is just that. The only way to find out is run the strip. If I had a pound from all the knobbers that reckoned they could blow my old Pinto'd drag car into the weeds with their 530 BMW or VTEC'd J Ricer I'd be rich! Our best run in it was 14.01 which for a 2.0l was good going back then in 2010. Most road cars will struggle to better 15/16secs. IF you can get 13's on street tyres you have yourself an rocket on the road!
