A very quick update. Here's a pic of the venue for the launch event;  Backers will receive an email from us asking for their postal address once the kickstarter ends, those attending the event will receive a rather special invitation. Tomorrow we're flying to somewhere well off the beaten track to create the story that will go on the front cover. Those that are so inclined might want to follow on twitter as we'll stick up some pics along the way - @theduisbergkid and @motorpunk |

You're already at 150% pledge amount so looks like you'll be going ahead, but I added my little pledge too as I had "pledged" already in my mind to do so but hadn't a card beside the computer until now. Get this good thing off the ground.

Backed. It was reading your second book in a couple of hits that swung it. And if I'm honest, it was one line in one feature that made me realize what it was that was holding me back - and why my initial impression was wrong.

I'm always interested in feedback. On a related note, yesterday I had a snake thrown at me by an angry Moroccan, and am now washing sand out of my underpants. The KickStarter ends soon and it's not too late to get involved. I am, sincerely, extremely grateful for those putting their faith in getting MotorPunk magazine into print. It's so much work and I can't wait to see the result. |

Who else from RR is going to the launch event at Morgan? I've got my invite but sadly will be arriving by Alfa diesel not MX5.
Looking forward to it, the Morgan factory has been somewhere I've always wanted to visit and I'm sure the magazine launch will be interesting as well.

I'm going, unfortunately i will be in the modern daily as the bmw still has no engine in it and my astra isnt very happy at the moment so wouldnt trust it on a 250 mile round trip.

I was too late to back the project I don't get to see everything in General Board these days but have subscribed as I guess you need more subscribers than backers to make this work
Incidently I don't buy any magazines anymore - used to get Retro Cars and PPC regular but all the local stores just stopped stocking them - I've enjoyed reading your exploits on the web links from PH and here so I think I will probably enjoy the magazine

I still buy PPC, still good content, cars are realistic and the contributors are down to earth. This is unlike the majority of magazines where you've got kids with financed RS3's on air getting a 6 page shoot, load of pish

I still buy PPC, still good content, cars are realistic and the contributors are down to earth. I agree - however I'm not making a 50 mile journey to get a copy when no-one stocks it locally Oh and the spelling and grammar really gets on my tits and makes my teeth itch - if you are going to put stuff in print at least get it right!!! |

I'd agree that most of them are down to Earth. I've had the pleasure of meeting pretty much most of the main men there. I saw Mankee Cheung at the Morgan event and he certainly is a genuine and regular guy. Kevin Leaper, I have bumped into on a few occasions and even bought some tat from him! A friend of mine with a Vortex Phanton GTR met Kevin and Will Holman and walked away with a similar opinion regarding Kev. However, as time goes on, not all presenters and editors are what they seem from what they write  . The more you deal with people within it the sooner you realise it. After meeting Darryl and tdk it's what further engaged me to back their project. |

I had a good chat with Mankee as well and Rich.
I go through phases of buying PPC I like the content but it can get a bit repetitive. At the moment I'm buying it because one of the 'staff cars' is an Alfa 159, there are also a lot of RR cars being featured.
The recent 50p rise in price makes it harder to justify as well compared to the price of Classic Cars etc.
Looking forward to Motorpunk as I think it will be more varied and the idea of car club 18-30 appeals. For in depth technical articles forums, such as RR, are better so more 'lifestyle' (horrible word I know) is good.

Thanks for the comments. I still write for PPC Mag, too, next issue has a Bentley Turbo R feature I did, and the one after has a big thing on my Alfa GTV V6 at the 'ring. I think my efforts will go more into work on my own magazine going forwards, though. Your backing and subscriptions are genuinely appreciated. It's a huge effort to get this thing off the ground but we're in good shape and I can't wait for the feedback on issue one - which should go live in August |
