I feel an urge to re-heat this thread.
Recently I have been thinking about MB100 a lot and I would be v. surprised if I will not end up buying one in not too distant future. I love how the latest version of it looks like bus version of W124.
The only thing that puts me off is the wrong wheel drive system. It looks like 4x4 would not be impossible to do tho.

I'm a big fan of the Boxy Sprinter predecessors. Much prefer them over VW offerings. Similarly wonder why not so loved. and of course slammed / bagged on Fusch's FTW

They were cool but since the 1928 Hanomag Kommisbrot Korbwagen they became rather bland

Well, as a former owner of a 1971 F20 I feel that I have the right to include some negativity in the thread since it is the truth after all... They are absolutely horrible to drive! The noise from the engine that is inside the cab is deafening and the gearing probably makes it strong when fully loaded with the relatively small engines they had, but it is not really made for freeway speeds over 40-50 MPH or something like that. I guess that most people wants their enthusiast cars to be a joy and not a pain to drive. Besides, when you compare the looks of the Hanomag to, let's say similar era Volkswagens or Transits, I can understand why most people have a hard time with the looks of the Hanomag, like a sad panda or something like that.... It's simply not as charming for the general public. Also, I haven't seen one on the roads in many years so most of them probably was rusted away already in the early 90s, hard to come by and I don't know how the parts availability is nowadays. Of course, if someone wants to build a cool Hanomag I would only encourage him, this is just my theories why you never see one built up. Fun fact: The petrol version, for some reason, used the BMC B-series engine!

I just love the fooglines of the late MB100 for some not-understandable reason.. And let's be honest about it... They are nothing short of f..ugly! And they are wrong wheel drive.. I am sure this list goes on.
